Palavras-chave: pressão, vazão, uniformidade, eficiência FIELD PERFORMANCE OF A MICROSPRINKLER SYSTEM ABSTRACTThis work was conducted in the 'Escola Agrotécnica Federal de Sousa, PB', with the purpose of evaluating the performance of the microsprinkler system of localized irrigation. Three sub units of this project, (A, B and C), were evaluated for the variation of pressure and flow, coefficients of uniformity and the application efficiency. High flow and pressure variations were observed in two sub units appraised. The irrigation uniformity was high, being classified as excellent. The efficiency of application of water in the sub units A and C was acceptable, while in the area B it was less than the minimum recommendable of 80.0% for microsprinkler, a fact that may be attributed to the high absolute variations of pressure and of flow observed in all the lateral subunits.
AGRONOMIC CHARACTERISTICS OF MICROPROPAGATED BANANAS FROM BOTUCATUAbstract -The research had as purpose to evaluate the agronomic characteristics of the bananas' cultivars 'Prata-anã' (group AAB), 'Maçã' (group AAB) and 'Nanicão' (group AAA) under the conditions of Botucatu city, São Paulo state, Brazil. The plants origined by tissue culture were climatizated in greenhouse during 90 days and after they were planted in the yield. Were evaluated the growth parameters as days number between the planting until the harvest , leaf number, plants height and stem diameter at the flowering time. Also, were measured production parameters as fruits number, banana bunches number, fruits diameter, banana bunches weight, height and weight of second banana bunch and fruits number per cluster at the harvesting time. The results showed that the medium growing period until the harvest was about 416 days for the cv 'Nanicão'that was the earliest, followed by the cv 'Prata-anã' (434 days) and 'Maçã' (437 days). The tree cultivars showed estimated productions on the first period (mother plant) of 30,56 t.ha -1 ; 19,50 t.ha -1 and 14,37 t.ha -1 for the cv 'Nanicão', 'Prata-anã' and 'Maçã', respectively. There was positive correlation between the growth and the production.
A irrigação suplementar com água de salinidade de 5,0 dS m -1 não promoveu redução significativa nas variáveis estudadas (diâmetro de caule, período para poda da haste principal e dos ramos secundários, produção total e comercial, número de frutos total e comercial, peso médio do total de frutos e de frutos comercializáveis do maracujazeiro amarelo) Palavras-chave: Passiflora edulis, salinidade, irrigaçãoGrowth and production of yellow passion fruit under supplemental irrigation with saline water A B S T R A C TVegetable species cultivated under irrigation in semi-arid areas are subjected to the adverse effects of soluble salts and exchangeable sodium in the root zone, resulting in reduction of growth and production. In this context in the Valley of Rio Piranhas, in Sousa -PB, during December, 1999 to September, 2000, the effects of five levels of electrical conductivity of the water (ECw: 0.2, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0 and 5.0 dS m -1 at 25 ºC) on the growth and the production of the yellow passion fruit plant (Passiflora edulis Sims. f. flavicarpa Deg.) under supplemental irrigation were studied in a completely randomized experimental design, with four repetitions. The plants, spaced 3.0 x 2.5 m, were drip irrigated daily, and the depth was calculated using data of Tank Class A, using the coefficients of correction (Kp -0.50), crop coefficient (Kc -0.80) and shade coefficient (Ks -0.19 and 0.30). Supplemental irrigation with water of salinity of 5.0 dS m -1 did not promote any significant reduction in analyzed variables (stem diameter, the time necessary to prune main stem and the secondary branches, the total and commercial production, the total and commercial number of fruits, and the mean weight of total fruits and the commercial fruits of the passion fruit plant)
Correction of saline and sodic soils aims to reduce salts dissolved in the solution and exchangeable sodium, respectively, to allow the growth and production of crops. In this context, an experiment was carried out between August/2011 and September/2012, in saline-sodic soil of the Irrigated Perimeter of São Gonçalo, in the municipality of Sousa, PB, Brazil. Agricultural gypsum, organic sources and continuous leaching for reducing salinity, sodicity and alkalinity in the saline-sodic soil and their effects on the production of the sunflower cultivar Embrapa 122/V-2000 and the rice variety Diamante were evaluated. The treatments were distributed in four randomized blocks and the soil was subjected to continuous leaching for 50 days and evaluated for salinity, sodicity and alkalinity before and after leaching, as well after sunflower and rice cultivation, in the 0-0.20 and 0.20-0.40 m layers. Leaching and the application of gypsum and organic sources reduced the initial salinity in both soil layers, to a greater extent in the surface layer. Exchangeable sodium decreased in 0-0.20 m and increased in 0.20-0.40 m. After rice cultivation, the soil in the 0-0.20 m layer changed from saline-sodic to non-saline in the treatments gypsum + bovine manure and gypsum + rice husk. The reduction of salinity, sodicity and alkalinity in the soil was higher during rice cultivation than during sunflower cultivation.
