SummaryThe education of young people today is an important need to face the difficult task of building the youth issue in the Latin American context. The paper explores, from a pedagogical-social approach, the situation of the youth population and the implications that poverty and lack of quality services have in their daily lives. In addition, as part of the comprehensive development of young people, identifies leisure as a human right that must be guaranteed by public policies in each country. Finally, it enters the challenges that Social Pedagogy must confront to navigate towards an education oriented to the new youth citizenship, integrated in a still non-existent regional project currently.
