Kata kunci: studi retrospektif, kanker kulit Abstract Background: Skin cancer places on number three after cervical cancer and breast cancer in Indonesia. Increased of ultraviolet radiation, genetic factors, unhealthy lifestyles, and infection of human papillomavirus can trigger skin cancer. Aim: Knowing the profile of skin cancer at the Dermatology and Venereology Outpatient Dr. M. Djamil Hospital were 38 skin cancer cases from 1,003 visits to the Tumor and Skin Surgery Division of Dermatology and Venereology Outpatient Dr. M. Djamil Hospital Padang. Patients were 20 male (53%) and 18 female (47%). Basal cell carcinoma 31 cases (81%), squamous cell carcinoma 6 cases (16%), basosquamous cell carcinoma 1 case (3%) and no cases of malignant melanoma. It occurred more frequently in age group of 45-64 years with 22 cases (58%). Conclusion: Nonmelanoma skin cencer is the most common skin cancer worldwide. In this study the most common skin cancer is basal cell carcinoma, male patients are more commonly found and it occurred more frequently in age group of 45-64 years.
Introduction: Nevus spilus (NS) are seen in 0.2% to 2.3% of the population and have 0,13% to 0,2% risk for malignant transformation. Clinical, dermoscopic, and histhopatological features were describe in this case report in order to be easily recognize NS. Although NS is a benign cutaneous anomaly it has potential malignant transformation and requires regular follow up. Case Report: A case of nevus spilus in 23 years-old female was reported. There were multiple asymptomatic brownish pigmented spots over brownish patch on left cheek which gradually increased in number and size since 1 year ago. Dermatologic state: brown macules and dark brown papules in a speckled, overlying background café au lait macule. Dermoscopy revealed reticular pattern in background light brown and dark reticuloglobular pattern in dark speckled. Histopathology showed elongation of rete ridges with grouping of melanocyte cells at the tip, and proliferation of nevus cells. Conclution: Patient was planned to treat with Nd-Yag laser.
Vitiligo is an idiopathic disease characterized by depigmented patches on the skin due to loss of melanocytes. Vitiligo is often believed to be present in patients with vitamin B12 deficiency. Vitamin B12 are major determinants of homocysteine levels, and nutritional deficiency in these vitamins results in hyperhomocysteinemia. High levels of homocysteine are suspected to have toxic effects on melanocytes and cause vitiligo. This study aims to know the relation between serum homocysteine and vitamin B12 level with vitiligo severity. This work was an observational study with an analytic cross-sectional study design, consisting of 20 vitiligo patients aged 15-65 years who met inclusion and exclusion criteria. Vitiligo area severity index (VASI) score was calculated, and serum homocysteine and vitamin B12 levels were determined by ELISA method. The mean age of vitiligo patients in this study was 44.55 ± 14.36 years and mostly female (85%). The most common type is vitiligo Vulgaris (70%) with the degree of severity based on the VASI score has a mean of 20.33 ± 25.64. The mean serum homocysteine level was 10.33 ± 10.01 μmol / L and vitamin B12 level was 138.77 ± 156.07 pmol / L. The association between serum homocysteine and vitamin B12 with a VASI score was not statistically significant. There was no significant correlation between homocysteine levels and serum vitamin B12 with the severity of vitiligo. But in this study see the average vitamin B12 levels are lower than normal values.
