Os custos associados as emissões de ações reduzem a acessibilidade das empresas ao mercado de capitais. Os bancos de investimento atuam como tomadores de risco colocando os títulos no mercado, cobrando para tanto, comissões bancárias. Este artigo objetiva analisar a influência da percepção de risco dos bancos de investimento sobre os custos de emissão de ações por meio do desenvolvimento de quatro proposições. Foi identificado que os indicadores financeiros, a transparência, a governança corporativa, a percepção de risco dos investidores e os riscos de mercado têm um papel relevante na avaliação dos riscos. As proposições possibilitam a ampliação dos debates e do conhecimento sobre o tema, auxiliando na formulação de estratégias de emissão com menores custos, ampliando, assim, a acessibilidade ao financiamento por emissão de ações, aumentando a atratividade do mercado de capitais e contribuindo com o desenvolvimento econômico brasileiro.
