Resumo O objetivo deste estudo é explorar uma compreensão histórica da constituição do Centro Espírita e Culto de Oração Casa de Jesus – Fonte de Luz, localizado na cidade amazônica de Rio Branco, estado do Acre. O processo de institucionalização dessa associação religiosa é investigado à medida que se apresentam as relações associativas desenvolvidas ao longo da formação de uma religiosidade de devoção. Assim, trata-se de mostrar a expressão de uma comunalização religiosa em seu processo histórico de organização como uma forma de interação social. Este artigo baseia-se em material etnográfico reunido entre os anos de 2009 e 2012.
O objetivo deste artigo é analisar a expressão de um tipo de comunalização religiosa aliada à compreensão do “habitus religioso” (Bourdieu, 2007) gerado segundo as injunções das relações associativas e das práticas devocionais realizadas no “Centro Espírita e Culto de Oração Casa de Jesus – Fonte de Luz”. O respectivo culto foi fundado, no ano de 1945, em Rio Branco (capital do Acre), por Daniel Pereira de Mattos, proveniente do estado do Maranhão. A pesquisa que fundamenta o presente estudo resulta de material de campo, notadamente à luz das considerações de Berreman (1975) e Clifford (1999), além das perspectivas de pesquisa histórica sugeridas por Burke (2004) e Ginzburg (2006). Considera-se, então, que o vínculo duradouro ao culto incrementa um habitus religioso particular a partir da regularidade das práticas devocionais próprias com o uso ritual da ayahuasca, assumidas, então, como compromissos canalizadores de um preparo específico.
As experiências etnográficas apresentadas neste estudo/texto são oriundas das leituras e debates suscitados na disciplina Representações do Corpo: antropologia da performance, no Programa de Pós-graduação em Sociologia da Universidade Federal do Ceará (UFC). O campo de investigação se deu no Município de Canindé no Estado do Ceará, no nordeste brasileiro, entre os meses de novembro e dezembro de 2016, onde se objetivou conhecer as experiências do cotidiano de travestis que residem nesse território e quais representações e performances são manipuladas por essas sujeitas. O texto inicialmente apresenta uma discussão das teorias da performance e seus usos no Brasil, seguindo da apresentação das experiências etnográficas com as travestis informantes da investigação, finalizando com a apresentação de questões educacionais suscitadas no campo, principalmente em relação a homofobia na escola contra as travestis e demais pessoas LGBT.
