Our initial study in the course showed that there was a lack of students understanding about social science. The purpose of this study was to investigated the effectiveness of using Cooperative Learning Model (Cooperative Script, Articulation, and Guided Note Taking) towards Pre-Service Elementary Teacher understanding on Social Science Course. This research was conducted in quasi-experimental research, with counterbalance research design. The subjects of this study were first year of undergraduate students of pre-service elementary school teacher education at the University of Kuningan. The data collection technique used was an instrument test which was an essay question. The data analyzed by statistical test with the t-test (independent samples t-test) at a 95% confidence level obtained tcalc > ttable and probability value sig. (2-tailed) < 0.05. The results of this study proved that there are differences in students' understanding so that the hypothesis is accepted. In our context, Cooperative Script was more sophisticated in improving student understanding compared to Articulation and Guided Note Taking. The limitation of our context means that there is no best method to be applied. Keywords: understanding; cooperative script; articulation; guided note taking; pre-service elementary teacher
This study intends to investigate the self-efficacy and perspectives of primary school parents in an online learning during COVID-19. The survey method was applied in this study with a random sampling technique for parents in West Java. Participants included in this study were 95 parents of elementary school students. The instruments applied were open and closed questionnaires. Overall, parental self-efficacy was moderate, namely 45.98. Parents' self-efficacy in public primary schools was higher than from private primary schools. However, in inferential, there was no significant difference between the self-efficacy of parents in public and private primary schools. 55% of parents rated online learning as effective. For students, 44% of parents felt that students had difficulties understanding online learning materials at home. On the other hand, 82% of parents felt student assessments assisted in learning from home. 93% of parents found it easy to access online learning. 68% of parents were satisfied with online learning during COVID-19. Thus, online learning is a breakthrough in learning activities with the use of future technology during COVID-19. Educators are also required to create interactive learning through online learning platform and with the cooperation from parents at home.
This research is motivated by the low ability of students to think critically in science subjects and the attitude of students' curiosity towards learning which has a major influence on the success of achieving learning objectives. The purpose of this study was to determine (1) the effect of the Multiliteracy learning model on elementary students' critical thinking skill, (2) the effect of the Multiliteracy learning model on students' curiosity attitudes. The method uses Quasi Experimental, while the research design uses the Non Equivalent Control Group Design. The dependent variable in this study is the student's critical thinking ability and students' curiosity attitude. While the independent variable is the multilateration model. The subjects of this study were 20 students of grade VA and 20 students of VB at SD Negeri 1 Ciporang. This research data collection using objective tests in the form of essays and observations. The results showed (1) there was an effect of the multilateration learning model on the critical thinking skills of elementary school students, (2) there was an effect of the multilateration learning model on the curiosity of elementary school students. This is indicated by the calculation result tvalue > ttable. So it can be concluded that using the multilateration model can have a significant effect on the critical thinking skills and curiosity of students compared to those who do not use the multilateration model
