The study facilitates digital nomadism for tourism research and recognizes a unique product offer on the market: the combined coworking and coliving space in compelling or exotic destinations. The aim of the study is to explore the experience of coworking and coliving by digital nomads and identify valuable elements. Qualitative interview data are used to analyse combined coworking and coliving space environments from the perspective of digital nomad tourists. A better understanding of digital nomad preferences may help destinations and business owners to attract digital nomads during and after the pandemic. The study’s findings, perceived advantages and disadvantages of coworking and coliving spaces, may serve as a guideline for targeting digital nomads.
The proliferation of novel work arrangements, accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic, has led to the emergence of remote work trip experiences in which work is conducted within the context of leisure travel. Remote work trips challenge the dichotomous view of traditional work and leisure domains. Grounded in positive psychology, this exploratory research investigates remote work travel experiences as a new phenomenon under the leisure travel umbrella. Using a data analytics approach based on a topological analysis of 32,881 Instagram posts, the findings revealed 23 distinct elements of remote work trip experiences that potentially influence well-being. The results indicate that traveling may benefit well-being despite not taking any breaks from work. By investigating the emerging trend of remote work trips and by expanding the understanding of how integrated work-travel experiences can influence well-being, this study contributes to the body of literature on both travel and positive psychology alike.
During the first phase of the pandemic, airlines experienced much pressure from customers. This paper investigates crisis communication trends and identifies opportunities for post-pandemic communication. The research applied a thematic analysis of official airline webpages and compared findings against industry reports and recent academic publications. As a result, main communication themes and strategies were summarized in the study. Key emerged themes are hygiene practices, social distance, rate flexibility, and social responsibility. More dialogue in terms of airlines' sustainable impact, responsible travel, and safety practices may be expected. Opportunities for more direct communication with airlines, including direct bookings and further digitalization of communication, were identified.
