Inteligência Emocional é a capacidade de reconhecer e gerenciar as suas próprias emoções e sentimentos; assim como interpretar e entender as emoções dos outros para melhorar a saúde mental, reduzir o estresse, o medo e a ansiedade. Este estudo analisou as relações entre as cincos habilidades de inteligência emocional (autoconsciência, automotivação, autocontrole, empatia e sociabilidade) dos cursos da Universidade Estadual do Piauí, campus Professor Barros Araújo. Trata-se de uma pesquisa descritiva/exploratória, de abordagem qualitativa, realizada no segundo semestre de 2019, composta por universitários com matrículas ativas nos cursos da UESPI, campus Professor Barros de Araújo, Picos – Piauí. Para a análise dos dados foi utilizado os métodos classificação e nuvem de palavras do IRAMUTEQ e o Software Microsoft Office Excel. Entre os participantes classificados com “bom nível emocional”, contatou-se que a autoconsciência é a habilidade que prevalece; estes discentes conseguem compreender e perceber bem seus sentimentos.
