A grande maioria das pessoas surdas possui um histórico de vida marcado por preconceito e restrições, sobretudo em relação à comunicação. Isso se deve ao fato da sociedade ainda estar atenta apenas a questões clínicas e não valorizá-los enquanto indivíduos plurais capazes de se desenvolverem por meio da Língua de Sinais. Devido a essas equivocadas concepções, o Projeto Surdo Cidadão tem como parâmetro de atuação divulgar e ensinar, por meio de minicursos em nível básico, a Língua Brasileira de Sinais (Libras) aos ouvintes, promover e orientar, através de palestras e oficinas, estudantes, professores e funcionários da Universidade Federal de Viçosa e da própria cidade a respeito de algumas nuances da Libras, cultura surda e ainda desenvolver atividades de Química e Matemática de cunho educacional voltado à estudantes surdos de Viçosa e região que cursam o Ensino Médio ou que já concluíram. Por isso, nesse relato será explanado sobre essas ações que foram realizadas em 2015 no projeto.PROEXT
RESUMO O Tradutor e intérprete de Língua Brasileira de Sinais-Língua Portuguesa - TILSP que atua em sala de aula apresenta atribuições que não se restringem à mediação comunicativa entre as línguas, mas abarcam a promoção de interações discursivas entre surdos e ouvintes que levam à construção de sentidos e, por conseguinte, à produção do conhecimento. Para isso, ele precisa conhecer o perfil do estudante com quem irá atuar e, então, selecionar métodos e estratégias linguísticas, interpretativas e tradutórias condizentes com o aprendiz. Também necessita estabelecer uma relação de parceria com os professores, objetivando adequações linguísticas aos diversos campos do conhecimento. Diante disso, realizamos uma pesquisa que visou refletir sobre a atuação de um TILSP na perspectiva da educação superior, discutindo questões que vão além da proficiência linguística e envolvem também estratégias de atuação do profissional para lidar com estudantes surdos. Os resultados demonstraram que devido às particularidades dos cursos e às diferenças linguísticas entre os surdos, o TILSP tende, por exemplo, a expandir a interpretação, acrescentando termos que, a princípio, não estariam no discurso fonte e a intensificar o uso de classificadores para que a mensagem seja melhor compreendida. Trazer à tona essas questões contribui para que revisitemos a multiplicidade do universo da tradução e da interpretação em relação às possíveis estratégias de atuação a serem utilizadas, além das nuances da educação de surdos em ambientes de ensino superior inclusivos.
Alguns autores discutem que a interpretação lida, em sua maioria, com situações e discursos formais, monológicos e simultâneos, trazendo consigo a inflexibilidade do tempo, densidade lexical e terminológica, o trabalho em equipe, o posicionamento e exposição dos intérpretes ao público. Reconhecendo esta peculiaridade, foi feito um levantamento dos anais das seis edições do Congresso Nacional de Pesquisas em Tradução e Interpretação de Libras e Língua Portuguesa realizado pela Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina. Os resultados apontaram a ocorrência de uma publicação em 2010, uma em 2012 e três em 2016. O baixo percentual revela a necessidade e urgência em promover discussões e produções no que tange a formação e atuação dos intérpretes de Libras–Língua Portuguesa do Brasil em contexto de conferência, visto que este tem sido um crescente espaço para o exercício profissional.
Os Tradutores e Intérpretes Educacionais de Língua de Sinais e Português (TIELSP) utilizam diferentes articuladores manuais e não-manuais das línguas gestuais-visuais para incorporar características da normatização científica ao conceito visualmente representado, tal como as unidades do Sistema Internacional de medidas expressas em letras maiúsculas. Dessa forma, discutiremos a relevância desses articuladores na Educação em Ciências, sobretudo para atribuir sentido a tais unidades, buscando um correto entendimento dessas representações. Consideramos a importância de as unidades serem adequadamente representadas em língua de sinais, assegurando o direito linguístico dos surdos no acesso ao conhecimento científico. Assim, esta pesquisa traz uma abordagem qualitativa-exploratória, com exemplos oriundos das Ciências e relacionados às experiências de um TIELSP na tradução de materiais didáticos e na sua atuação com as disciplinas nas áreas de Ciências Naturais e Engenharia. Concluímos que a sinalização das unidades de medidas pode ser uma das estratégias tradutórias e interpretativas capazes de promover a significação junto aos surdos, principalmente quando se ensina conteúdos científicos que demandam precisão na sua forma de expressão, devido às representações padronizados nas Ciências. Por fim, este estudo pode favorecer um maior entendimento dos conceitos científicos pelos estudantes surdos a partir da formação e atuação dos TIELSP e professores no âmbito das Ciências em geral.
A competência tradutória (intermodal) é a reunião de atitudes, habilidades e saberes especializados imprescindíveis ao tradutor para a transposição de informações entre línguas, distintas ou não. Segundo o grupo PACTE, tal competência é constituída por componentes que poderão ser tensionados a partir de aspectos como a direcionalidade do processo tradutório, o tipo e o gênero textual, e as modalidades (de uso) das línguas envolvidas. Sendo assim, empreendemos uma pesquisa de ordem exploratória na qual oito tradutores ouvintes, da região Sudeste e Sul do país, responderam a uma entrevista semiestruturada na qual abordava questões referentes à sua prática tradutória. Os dados demonstram que, apesar desses tradutores preferirem atuar na direção do português escrito para a Libras oral, a manifestação corporal, gestual e visual e o uso do espaço são considerados desafiadores, principalmente por envolver o registro desse produto em vídeo. Além disso, independentemente dos textos a serem traduzidos, as consultas em fontes documentais, lexicais e terminológicas são ações essenciais no trabalho desses profissionais. Diante disso, ressaltamos a importância em tratar a competência tradutória intermodal, defendida por Rodrigues (308), de maneira a oferecer aos tradutores formações que englobem atividades nas duas direções, emprego de ferramentas de busca e maior variedade de textos.
