O trabalho investigou as potencialidades e limitações do jogo Mineropólio para a abordagem da mineração no Brasil no ensino de Química no Ensino Médio e a forma que este recurso promove a discussão na perspectiva CTS. O jogo foi inserido em uma sequência de aulas e aplicado em duas turmas de uma escola pública em Blumenau, Santa Catarina. Como instrumentos de pesquisa foram utilizados: observação participante da sequência de ensino; aplicação de questionário aos estudantes; e gravação em áudio das aulas. Os dados foram analisados a partir da Análise de Conteúdo. Na percepção dos estudantes, o jogo adotado tem potencialidade lúdica e educativa. Os alunos citaram fatores econômicos, ambientais e sociais relacionados à mineração no Brasil entremeio a composição química dos minerais e suas aplicações. Porém, alguns estudantes demonstraram dificuldades na distinção entre composição química e elemento químico, mesmo após as discussões em aula, indicando a necessidade de aprofundamento nesta temática. jogo didático, abordagem CTS, ensino de química
