Gender ideology: a fallacy built around the brazilian Education PlansABSTRACT: This article explores a fallacy, known as "gender ideology", that came to the surface in the discussions about the current Education Plans. It revisits international and national frameworks arising since 1948 on human rights and education, gender equality and the eradication of discrimination and violence based on gender, sexual orientation and gender identity. Arguments made by reactionary and/ or uncritical segments of society against the inclusion of these themes in the Education Plans are examined. The article concludes by pointing to the need for other sectors to become engaged in order to reduce bias and contribute towards Brazilian Education incorporating gender equality and respect for sexual diversity.
, and it presents this argument structure: research and education were conditioned by colonialism and, later, by coloniality. These processes produce a cultural legacy of servility that makes us Latin Americans imitators in the context of the restructuring of capitalism. In their introduction, they conclude that thought line by remembering Simón Rodríguez, based on this idea: someone who copies does not create, but tends to take wrong paths; "let us continue to imitate and take the wrong way" (RODRÍGUES, 2006, p. 202). The authors defined that colonialism is geographic domination and that once conquest is done, it produces its permanence through coloniality. Which, in turn, " [...] the colonial power that has continued to exist after the independence of our countries and is now being perpetuated through the various forms of domination of the North over the South" (STRECK; ADAMS, 2012, p. 247). Based on this argument, the core of the article sits in trying to show the scene of methodological proposals that present "resistance and reaction to maintaining a cultural, epistemic matrix that we characterize as coloniality" (STRECK; ADAMS, 2012, p. 247). According to Streck and Adams, these proposals did not come out of nothing, but from emancipation movements associated, for the most part, with popular education practices. Pesquisa em educaçãoI will divide the present text, which is no more than a counterpoint to the article of my colleagues and friends Streck and Adams, in two moments: copy as a curious controversy to the field of teaching and learning, which I title with the chorus "I came from there, I came from there when I was little"; and the "cue" their article provides me with as they argue that the methodologies proposed are "resistance and reaction", about which I affirm they did not come out of nothing, with the subheading "I've always been obedient, but I just c...
This article analyses experiences of crafstmanship within a group of women weavers. It looks at the process of mastering the art of textile-making amidst the tensions of a creative act, living on the margins and striving for recognition. The research methodology aims at closing the gap between researchers and the researched. The theoretical-methodological arguments are based on participatory research combined with the feminist perspective of giving visibility to the women´s history, which involves an act of research done as (self-)formation. Participant observation, discussion groups and talking circles allowed the collection of material for the analysis of the experiences. We came to the conclusion that the researchers and the women weavers (the researched) produce an aesthetics at a point of interface between their art studio and education environments, whereby women artisans were inspired to see their work from another perspective and recognise their craftwork, and they were challenged, along with the students as well as the professor, to think about teaching and learning in youth and adult education through handcrafted work. In this process, we come to elaborate a feminist hermeneutics.
Jogos Digitais. Temas Geradores. From phase to phase they emerge filled with discussions and details that deserve to be discussed rather than neglected. Therefore, what we propose in this paper is to think the digital games in education from freireans conceptions of Paulo Freire -specifically the games emerging with generating themes. For the best development of the subject, we start with the following guiding question: digital games, as languages, can be part of the larger process to think the generating themes, like other circunstancial points of Paulo Freire's theory? Our arguments are centered on freireans readings with approaches to the north american pragmatic thinking. In the first part of the article we work through the issues of the generating themes, and in the second part, we approach theoretical discussions with the feasibility of examples with market games. At the end, it seems that digital games taken as generating themes are challenging tools to functional technological literacy. Keywords: Education. Digital games. Generating Themes. Technology.
