Die Annahme, dab auch die ,,animalen" Funktionen unseres KSrpers yore vegetativen Nervensystem aus beeinfluBt werden, ist u. W. zuerst yon Lenaz 1 vertreten worden. Die auBerordentliche ]~edeutung dieser Vorstellung erhellte aber erst aus den seharfsinnigen und programmatisehen Uberlegungen und Versuehen yon Hess ~ fiber die Wechselbeziehungen zwischen psyehischen und vegetativen Funktionen. Nach Hess mfissen wir uns vorste]len, dab alle den animalen Funktionen dienenden nervSsen Zentralapparate unter sympathischen und parasympathischen Einflfissen stehen; die Frage, woher diese supponierten vegetativen Fasern stammen und wie sie verlaufen, wurde yon Hess zun~ehst noeh nieht diskutiert.Ganz unabh~ngig yon diesen Untersuehungen haben Orbeli und seine Schifler 8 zwingende Beweise dafiir erbracht, dab das ~eri~here sympathische Nervensystem nicht nur die vegetativen Organe, sondern aneh die Skeletmuskulatur, das Zen-trMnervensystem, also wahrscheinlich alle erregbaren Organe beeinflussen kann. Sympathische Einfliisse auf spinale l~eflexe beim Froseh wurden zuerst yon Orbelis Sehiilerin Tonkich beobachtet 4. Sie bestimmte bei FrSschen die Ti~rcksche Zeit durch gleichzeitiges Eintauchen beider ttinterpfoten in schwache SaurelSsungen fiir d~s reehte und ]inke ]~ein und land fiir beide Beine im allgemeinen sehr gut iibereinstimmende Werte. Durchschnitt sie abet vor diesen Versuehen (NB. aueh bei entbluteten ~rSsehen) die l~ami eommunieantes der einen Seite (zur Kontrolle: Symmetrische Operationssehnitte dorsal auf beiden Seiten), so ergaben sich zwisehen der T~irckschen Zeit des normal innervierten und des sympath~seh entnervten Beines groBe Differenzen nach der einen oder anderen Richtung. Die Reizung des Sympathicus ergab in diesen Versuehen in der Mehrzahl der F~lle eine Verlangerung der Reflexzeit fiir beide Extremit~ten, in anderen F&l]en beiderseits eine Verkiirzung der Tfireksehen Zeit oder auch die gleichen Resultate nur 1 L. Lenaz, Berl. klin. Wschr. 1921, ]238 u. ]274.
Die vorliegende Untersuchung wurde in der Absicht begonnen, einen Beitrag zur Deutung der ,,rebound"-Kontraktion zu ]iefern, der ,,Rfickprallkontraktion", die oft nach SchluB einer reflektorisehen Itemmung zu beobachten ist. Im Verlaufe der Versuche ergaben sich aber manche, zum Tell unvorhergesehene Schwierigkeiten ffir die Beantwortung unserer Frage, und wir stieBen auf Probleme der allgemeinen Nervenphysiologie, die uns in mancher Hinsieht interessant erscheinen.Sherrinqton hat bei seinen klassischen Versuchen fiber die Reflexe der deeerebrierten Katze die Beobachtung gemacht, dab eine sehwache Reizung des zentralen Tibialisstumpfes nicht unter allen Umst~nden eine Hemmung des ipsilateralen Extensorenzentrums bewirkt, sondern dab eine solche sehwache Reizung mitunter eine Kontraktion des M. extensor cruris quadriceps auslSst. Sherrington und Sowton 1 suehten diese Reflexkontraktion dutch die Annahme zu erkl~iren, dab im N. tibia]is zweierlei afferente Fasern verlaufen, Fasern, die das Extensorenzentrum hemmen und solehe, die es erregen. Obwohl Sherrington und Sowton anfangs an die MOglichkeit dachten, dab auch die Rebound-Kontraktion der Kniestrecker auf eine --wiihrend der Hemmung mas. kierte --fiberdauernde Erregung solcher erregender afferenter Fasern im N. tibialis zuriickgefiihrt werden k6nnte, hat Sherrington doch den Rebound spgter in anderer Weise gedeutet: Er nahm an, dab das Extensorenzentrum sieh naeh Ablauf eines Beugereflexes in einem Zustande gesteigerter Erregbarkeit befinde und dab es sich ,,spontan" entlade. Altenburger und Krolt 1 haben vor kurzem fiber Versuehe berichtet~ in denen sie bei Katzen und Fr6sehen die peripheren Stfimpfe dorsaler lumbMer Wurzeln reizten. Die Chronaxie des M. gastroenemiu~ wurde bei lficht deeerebrierten Tieren durch die Reizung der dorsalen Wurzeln vorfibergehend verkfirzt, bei decerebrierten verli~ngert. Die Wurzelreizung wirkte also entgegengesetzt der Sympathieusreizung (nach Ergebnissen yon Altenburger und KrolI) und deshalb nehmen diese AutorerL an, dab in den dorsalen Wurzeln parasympathisehe, die Muskel-Zeiterregbarkeit beeinflussende Fasern verlaufen.Wir haben die erwi~hnten Versuche an drei Katzen und drei Fr6sehell wiederholt.FrSsche in Urethan-, Katzen in Dialnarkose. Laminektomie; Ligatur und Durchtrennung tier 9. und 10. (Frosch) bzw. der 6. und 7. lumbalen (Katze) dorsalen Wurzeln. Feucht bzw. auch warm gehaltene Wurzeln zur Reizung aus dem Riickenmarkskanal gehoben; Pt-Elektroden. Bestimmung der Chronaxie des freigelegten M. gastrocnemius mit einzelnen Kondensatorentladungen. 15 000 ~2 im t{auptkreis, 5000 $2 parallel zum Muskel; differente chlorierte Ag-Nadelelekt.rode. Bestimmungen abwechselnd mit und ohne faradische Wurzelreizung.Wir haben an diesen seehs Tieren 29 Wurzelreizungen mit sehr verschiedenen Reizsti~rken ausgefiihrt und haben ~ abgesehen yon einem Falle --keinerlei Wirkung der Reizung auf die Muskelchronaxie beobaehtet. Diese seh~vankte bei der Wurzelreizung innerhalb der auch sonst beobachteten Grenzen, z. B. wi~hrend einer Versuehsdauer yon 1--2 Stunden zwischen 0,09 und 0,105/~:F oder in einem anderen Falle zwischen 0,017 und 0,023 tt]~.Bei einer Katze sahen wir bei der zweiten Wurzelreizung eine Chron-axieverl~ngerung yon 0,038 auf 0,10--0,12 uF. Die Chronaxie sank w~hrend der n/~chsten Stunde nur bis 0,07 #F ab. Drei weitere Wurzelreizungen blieben sp~ter erfolglos. In diesem Falle berfihrten zu Begim~ Altenburger, H. u. F. W.
