El presente artículo propone el control de velocidad para motores de CA mediante un sistema conformado por Interfaces Humano Máquina (HMI)-Controlador Lógico Programable (PLC)-Variador de Frecuencia (AFD) para tres modos de control; velocidades preestablecidas, lazo abierto y lazo cerrado, los cuales son utilizados en diversos procesos industriales. Se muestran las interfaces de usuario gráfico diseñadas y los algoritmos de control desarrollados, así como las reglas lógicas de control, monitoreo y animación para cada uno de los modos de control. La eficiencia del sistema de velocidad se logra al separar la lógica de programación de seguridad y de control crítico en el PLC y la lógica de control, monitoreo y animación en la HMI. Para el modo de control de lazo cerrado solo se muestra el diseño, la sintonización del controlador Proporcional + Integral + Derivativo quedaría en función de la aplicación. La propuesta es con base en los estándares internacionales IEC-61131-3 para el desarrollo de los algoritmos de control en lenguaje de programación Diagrama Escalera (LD) y por ANSI-ISA 101.01 para el diseño de interfaces hombre máquina, lo que garantiza su funcionalidad en aplicaciones reales industriales. Resalta la importancia de generar sistemas HMI-PLC-ADF-Motor CA para aplicaciones en máquinas o procesos de producción fundamentadas en los estándares internacionales y la reducción de lógica de control en los PLC optimizando su utilización en el control, mientras todas las demás reglas de control, monitoreo y animación se ejecutan en una computadora con mayor velocidad y capacidad de procesamiento. En este trabajo se propone la automatización del proceso de empaquetado de platos de poliestireno expandido, conocido coloquialmente en México como unicel, de diferentes tamaños. El sistema propuesto utiliza tecnologías de control tal como un Controlador Lógico Programable (PLC), el cual recibe información de elementos secundarios de medición como sensores de presencia, los cuales permiten ejecutar acciones de control mediante el algoritmo de control programado en el PLC y enviar señales de control a los actuadores, tales como motores eléctricos, pistones neumáticos, y un dispositivo cortador-sellador. El proceso inicia estibando los platos en un contenedor según la cantidad necesaria y el tipo de éstos que se desee empaquetar, lo cual se debe especificar previamente en la Interfaz Humano-Máquina (HMI); posterior a esto; comienzan a operar las bandas transportadoras para que los platos estibados sean empaquetados. La presente propuesta de automatización considera el inicio del proceso posterior a las etapas de corte y moldeado del producto.
En este trabajo se presenta la propuesta de un proyecto enfocado a la comunicación entre dos controladores de marca distinta, como son el PLC Festo Compact FC34 y el GE PACSystem RX3i. Para la aplicación considerada, cada controlador ejecuta un proceso distinto pero que están interrelacionados mediante una arquitectura distribuida; a su vez, la adquisición de datos se lleva a cabo a través del software de supervisión Wonderware InTouch que, en este caso, se utiliza también para realizar un monitoreo remoto del sistema; y empleando un router, la información recabada de los controladores se concentra y se transmite de manera inalámbrica. Tanto al PLC Festo Compact como al GE PACSystem se le ha desarrollado a cada uno una Interfaz Humano-Maquina local, con el propósito de proporcionar al operador en campo la facilidad de monitorear y controlar el proceso cuando sea requerido. La propuesta ha sido implementada a través de una aplicación de tipo industrial enfocada al control de un proceso de llenado de un par de silos contenedores de grano, así como de transporte y molienda del grano. Las variables relacionadas con las entradas y salidas físicas de la aplicación (sensores, válvulas, motores, etc.) son señales generadas a nivel de simulación, con la finalidad de demostrar la operatividad del sistema propuesto en el proyecto.
