Resumo: Este trabalho teve como objetivo avaliar o efeito do treinamento aquático sobre as respostas eletromiográficas do músculo trapézio fibras descendentes em indivíduos com fibromialgia. O delineamento do estudo foi clínico experimental, realizado na clínica de fisioterapia da Universidade Federal de Alfenas -MG (UNIFAL-MG). A amostra foi composta por 11 indivíduos com diagnóstico de fibromialgia. Foram realizados quatro momentos de avaliação: inicial, 10, 20 e 30 sessões. O instrumento de avaliação utilizado foi a eletromiografia de superfície para o músculo trapézio descendente bilateralmente em repouso e em contração isometria voluntária máxima (CIVM). As intervenções foram compostas por treinamento aeróbico aquático (aquecimento, condicionamento e resfriamento), 3x por semana, durante dois meses e meio. Os resultados mostratam redução significativa (intragrupo) em ambos os lados para o músculo trapézio fibras descendentes (p=0,001 e p=0,004) e redução significativa (intergrupos) na quarta avaliação, durante o repouso. Conclui-se que o treinamento aquático promoveu alteração na atividade eletromiografia do músculo trapézio fibras descendentes em indivíduos com fibromialgia.
