The chemical composition of the leaf oil of camu-camu (Myrciaria dubia (HBK) McVaugh) was studied by GC and GC/MS. One hundred and fifteen components of the oil were identified, of which α-pinene (74.3%) and limonene (10.8%) were the major constituents. The composition of the leaf oil was characterized by its richness in monoterpene and sesquiterpene hydrocarbons and the presence of many esters and unsaturated aldehydes.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
