A field experiment was conducted in Hafir Shehab El-Din (Dakhalia Governorate), Egypt (latitude of 31.5 N, and longitude of 30.32 E), and elevation of 15 m above sea level) during the 2018/2019 and 2019/2020 growing seasons, to study the impact of gibberellic acid on the yield and quality of some sugar beet varieties. A randomized complete block design (RCBD) using stripplot arrangement with four replication was used in both growing seasons, where four gibberellic acid concentrations (control= distilled water, 100 ppm, 200 ppm and 300 ppm) occupied the main plots, while the four multi-germ and mono-germ sugar beet varieties namely, Belatos, Hercule, Helsinki and Bersea, allocated in the sub-plots. The plot area was 21 m 2 (1/200 fed.) and consisted of 6 ridges, 7 m length, 0.5 m width and 0.20 m spacing between hills. Seeds were sown in the first week of October, as well as sugar beet was harvested at the age of 210 days. The soil of the experimental site was clay. All studied traits (root fresh weight, sucrose%, root yield and yield/fed.) were highly significantly affected by the two studied factors (gibberellic acid concentrations and sugar beet varieties) in both growing seasons. All studied traits were increased by increasing gibberellic acid concentration and the highest mean values were obtained by 300 ppm gibberellic acid treatment, in both growing seasons, except sucrose % was superior with 200 ppm treatment in the second growing season. The Bersea variety realized the maximum mean values for root fresh weight (kg/plant) and root yield (ton/fed.) in both growing seasons, combined with sucrose% and sugar yield (ton/fed.) in the first growing season only.
and 2016/2017 seasons to study the effect of yeast rates and potassium fertilization on yield and quality of some sugar beet varieties. The experiment was laid out in randomized complete block design (RCBD) using strip split plot arrangement with three replications. Yeast foliar application rates (0,1,2 and 3 kg fed.-1) was arranged horizontally, while potassium fertilization levels (12.5, 25 and 37.5 kg K 2 O fed.-1) were distributed in vertically, as well as sugar beet varieties (kawemira, Romulus and Glorius) were arranged in sub plots. The obtained results revealed that yeast foliar application at the rate of 3.0 kg wet yeast fed.-1 recorded the highest significant mean values of root length, root diameter, single root weight, root yield fed.-1 , pol percentage, sugar recovery percentage and recoverable sugar yield (ton fed.-1) traits in the two growing seasons. Furthermore, the obtained results detected that the studied potassium fertilization levels had a significant effect in the all studied traits in the two growing seasons in favor of 37.5 kg K 2 O fed.-1. Here too, kawemira sugar beet variety gave the highest mean values of previous traits in both seasons. In addition, the obtained results revealed that the all first and second order interactions involved in this respect had a significant influence on all studied traits. Moreover, kawemira sugar beet variety which sprayed with 3 kg yeast fed.-1 and fertilized with 37.5 kg K 2 O fed.-1 produced the maximum mean values of all studied traits in both seasons.
This investigation was carried out at laboratories of examination and certification of seeds, at the Agronomy Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Assiut University, Egypt during 2019 season to study the impact of storage period, grains treatment and storage methods on quality and yield traits of Gemaza11 cultivar using completely randomized design. The studied traits, were significantly decreased with increasing storage periods till nine months. The lowest mean value test weight (60), seed index (50.33 g), gluten content (10.33%), fermentation time test (30.67 minutes), fine flour percentage (72%), coarse flour percentage (3.333%), coarse bran percentage (20.33%), and fine bran percentage (4.00%). The highest mean values of grain yield feddan -1 . Moreover the lowest mean values of grain yield feddan -1 .
