Este artigo discute a questão da espiritualidade, enquanto fator promotor da resiliência, em dois momentos do ciclo vital: a idade adulta e a velhice Atualmente, a investigação psicológica tem vindo a atribuir maior importância à espiritualidade, sobretudo no que se refere à compreensão da forma como as crenças interferem ns saúde. A resiliência encontra-se fortemente relacionada com o facto de o sujeito, apesar das perdas associadas à velhice, conseguir envelhecer de forma ativa, permitindo-lhe esta, através de adaptações, manter a sua qualidade de vida, a sua saúde física, cognitiva e social. Assim, a espiritualidade pode ser considerada um recurso para o bem-estar na velhice, pelo que a participação em ambientes motivadores e a presença de oportunidades de crescimento, coadunadas com os fatores espirituais-religiosos, têm-se mostrado fundamentais nesta fase do ciclo vital. Esta revisão da literatura revela que a religiosidade e a espiritualidade podem estar associadas a uma maior resiliência, sobretudo na velhice. Todavia, não foram encontradas investigações consistentes, do ponto de vista metodológico, que permitam a discussão sobre a dimensão desenvolvimental desses construtos como promotores de resiliência.
Considerando que o presente artigo aborda um movimento religioso (neo)pentecostal de base protestante, é pertinente, em primeiro lugar, caracterizar, embora que brevemente, o Protestantismo e o Pentecostalismo.
Este artigo é um trabalho de enquadramento conceitual, que suporta pesquisas etnográficas que enfocam a presença e a dinâmica religiosa do protestantismo-pentecostalismo na Amazônia. A hipótese que estofa epistemologicamente este texto - e os projetos antropológicos já em andamento e futuros - formula a ideia de que o aspecto étnico-cultural “caboclo”, como ‘tipo ideal’ (no sentido weberiano), é um factor crucial nas dinâmicas evangélicas nesta região. Esta construção conceptual está presente, entre outros, em teóricos como Eduardo Galvão, Heraldo Maués, Angélica Mota Maués e João de Paes Loureiro – estudiosos da cultura amazônica. O objetivo é estudar as dinâmicas históricas e registrar, etnograficamente, as manifestações de movimentos missionários, de igrejas (neo)pentecostais e também de grupos menos institucionalizados, materializadas no forte processo de conversão e evangelização de comunidades tradicionais (indígenas, ribeirinhos, caboclos e populações peri-urbanas). O foco é analisar o impacto destas expressões religiosas em diversos tipos de grupos socioculturais amazónicos e de que forma estas comunidades, agora convertidas, ressignificam, criam e desenvolvem novas expressões do sagrado, formando o que estamos a denominar de ‘pentecostalismo caboclo’.
Baseando em autores de referência no assunto - como Hall, Geertz, Bourdieu, Bauman, Choay, Barth, Halbwachs, Maalouf, entre outros - o objetivo deste texto é discutir, numa perspetiva antropológica, os conceitos de património cultural, memória social e identidades (individual/colectiva, cultural e social), incluindo a identidade étnica. Na abordagem destes conceitos, é pertinente realçar, numa perspectiva macro-sociológica, a relação entre globalização e identidade(s), focando a forma como as identidades são construídas num contexto mundial da pós-modernidade, caracterizado pela ‘glocalização’ e, num nível mais micro-sociológico, a específica relação entre património e memória.
