Penelitian mengenai cerita pantun Sunda dewasa ini jauh lebih sedikit jumlahnya dibandingkan dengan penelitian tentang teks sastra Sunda tertulis seperti yang berupa naskah (manuscript: handschrift). Dalam cerita pantun sarat dengan nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter, seperti dalam dalam teks Cerita pantun Mundinglaya Di Kusuma (CPMK). Beberapa alasan pentingnya dilakukan penelitian terhadap teks CPMK adalah sebagai berikut: (1) Teks CPMK belum pernah diteliti mengenai transformasi dari kelisanan ke keberaksaraannya, (2) Teks CPMK belum pernah dikaji secara struktural-semiotik, (3) Teks CPMK belum pernah dikaji berdasarkan pendekatan etnopedagogi sehingga diperoleh informasi berkenaan dengan nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter bangsa dari teks tersebut. Pendekatan sastra yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan objektif dengan metode struktural-semiotik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa (1) Tradisi dan transmisi penurunan teks CPMK dilakukan secara lisan melalui pergelaran mantun, sedangkan tradisi dan transmisi teks tulis WMK tidak dapat diketahui dengan pasti karena teks itu merupakan satu teks unikum. (2) Teks lisan CPMK dan WMK memiliki struktur formal dan struktur naratif. Struktur formal CPMK terbentuk oleh 8 formula, sedangkan struktur formal WMK terbentuk oleh puisi pupuh. Struktur naratif CPMK tersusun dalam 13 fungsi dan 7 lingkungan tindakan, sedangkan struktur naratif WMK tersusun dalam 6 model aktan dan 1 model fungsional yang terdiri atas 3 tahapan jalan cerita. (3) Transformasi yang terjadi dari kelisanan (orality) CPMK ke keberaksaraan (literacy) WMK ada pada tataran bentuk formal, sedangkan tataran isi cerita tetap sama. (4) Hadirnya transformasi dari kelisanan CPMK ke keberaksaraan WMK, secara semiotik, dapat dimaknai sebagai suatu upaya untuk melestarikan dan mempertahankan eksistensi nilai ajaran moral yang tertuang dalam cerita pantun ke dalam era (zaman) wawacan sejalan dengan situasi dan kondisi serta minat masyarakat Sunda masa itu.Kata kunci: pendidikan, karakter, etnopedagogi
The purpose of this study was to evaluate Sundanese textbooks used for learning Sundanese language at elementary school. The problems of this study are: 1) the quality of Sundanese textbooks; 2) values of character education contained in Sundanese textbook; 3) Sundanese textbooks relevance with the 2013 Sundanese local curriculum. The method used in this study is the descriptive method. While the technique used was literature study by identifying the material obtained in textbooks based on textbook quality criterion, character education values, and relevance with the 2013 Sundanese Language local curriculum. The data source was Basa Sunda Urang textbook published 2017 by CV. Gegersunten by Tatang Sumarsono et al. The results of this study indicated that 1) BSU textbooks Grade IV, V, and VI have described the scientific point of view that is in accordance with the essence of Sundanese language and literary subjects. It clearly described the concepts related to language and literature; written based on the 2013 Sundanese Language and Literature local curriculum. It can foster students' motivation to learn and in accordance with their ability and socio-cultural background; fostering students' talents and interests in learning. fostering Student Activity in learning; fulfilling illustrative criteria; Communicative-provides information to the readers clearly and interestingly; relating to other subject matter; respect and consider individual differences; and consider philosophical values. 2) The values of characters' education pictured are religious, environmental care, hard work, love for the country, love for peace, national spirit, social care, honest, have a spirit of nationalism and nationality. 3) The themes that cover every subject matter generally are in accordance with the themes contained in the 2013 Sundanese Language and Literature Local Curriculum. 4) The structure of the learning material presented was built on the aspects of language skills i.e. listening, reading, speaking, and writing; and consisted of learning instructions, presenting facts, discussion, and ending by the instruction to do assignments and exercises.
The study aims to develop an assessment model of Sundanese language speaking skills for junior high school students in West Java, Indonesia. This test model is expected to provide an effective assessment program, which includes contents, scope, delivery format, and time. A design-based research was adopted to produce a model of class-based Sundanese language and literature learning assessment via several tryouts, interviews, and expert judgment. Findings of this study show that the developed Sundanese Speaking Test Model (SSTM) fits the criteria of a good test in terms of clarity of instruction, clarity of test materials and assessment, use of communicative and standardized language, and use of correct varieties of spoken language. Statistical calculations of field tryout scores show that the assessment model was relevant to field data, indicating that the model is fit and worth using as an assessment instrument of Sundanese speaking skills of junior secondary school students as supported by theoretical concepts and expert judgment. Results of judgment by experts, users, and practitioners also show that the SSTM is reliable for use as an instrument for assessing students’ speaking skills at the middle school level.

This research was motivated by the discovery of literacy development contained in Sundanese language textbooks at the SMA/SMK/MA/MAK equivalent level. This literacy development is important to be studied further, so that it can be used as a model in the application of literacy development to students. Based on this background, this study aims to describe the development of literacy contained in the Panggelar Basa Sunda text book for students of SMA/SMK/MA/MAK class XI. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative by using literature study technique. The research data source is a Sundanese language textbook entitled Panggelar Basa Sunda pikeun SMA/SMK/MA/MAK students class XI 2013 revised 2017 curriculum, while the research data are 8 KD or 8 chapters contained in the contents of the textbook. After being analyzed, the textbook has criteria that are very feasible and easy to understand. The development of highly qualified literacy is able to support more competent, creative, productive resources and have high fighting values in facing the era of globalization.
