Aos voluntários participantes dos trabalhos do laboratório. presented the gray ring (cue) as distractor, no difference was observed between VL and CR reaction times with or without the distractor. Finally, the last experiment, in which the percentage of onset of VL was three times higher than the CR, no attentional effect was obtained. Our results indicate that the occurrence of attentional effect depends on the difficulty of discrimination of target stimuli. Possibly, when it is difficult to isolate the target stimuli processing from other stimuli in the task, the attentional set adopted is a higher level processing of all stimuli.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
