Lipaemia retinalis is a rare ocular manifestation of certain types of hyperlipidemias with elevated trigyceride levels. Combined hyperlipidaemia may occur as a primary familial or secondary acquired abnormality. In this report we describe a 3 month old baby with lipaemia retinalis. At presentation there was creamy white appearance of retinal blood vessels with no extravasation of lipid or blood. Triglycerides and cholesterol were raised at presentation. Following low fat diet and treatment serum triglyceride and cholesterol levels decreased significantly with complete resolution of fundus changes.
