ResumoAnalisa-se a divulgação científica nas revistas Scientific American Brasil e Superinteressante por meio das matérias de capa das edições do mês de novembro de 2009, quando tratam do mesmo tema, qual seja "A pílula da inteligência". A investigação parte da premissa de que embora os dois veículos sejam especializados em divulgar ciência ao grande público, cada um possui mecanismos próprios para atingir seus leitores. Para a consecução da investigação proposta utiliza-se a Análise de Conteúdo (AC), vista como método mais apropriado para este tipo de estudo. Conclui-se, portanto, que enquanto a Scientific opta por uma linguagem mais técnica e de maior complexidade para dialogar com seu público-alvo, a Superinteressante usa linguagem direta e de fácil entendimento, mesmo para pessoas que possuem pouca ou nenhuma familiaridade com o tema abordado. Palavras-chave INTRODUÇÃONa atualidade, é impossível desconsiderar a necessidade de divulgar ciência à sociedade, visto que parte do interesse da própria ciência é o desenvolvimento do gênero humano. É necessário, porém, afastar o "cientismo" (ou seja, a ciência fechada em si mesma e que é estéril e inútil) e substituí-lo pelo cientificismo, visto como o apoio social e cultural ao trabalho dos cientistas de determinada comunidade. Em tempos de crise mundial na saúde, a imprensa se torna ainda mais dependente de ser alimentada por dados fornecidos pelas fontes oficiais ou institucionais. No momento em que essas instituições se negam a repassar dados importantes, a imprensa se vê diante da quebra do processo comunicacional e do desafio de garantir a continuidade de sua função social, que é informar. A população, por sua vez, fica diante da incerteza sobre a real situação que a cerca e diante da insegurança sobre seu destino. Assim, o consórcio de veículos de imprensa foi uma saída encontrada por seis grupos de comunicação brasileiros – G1, O Globo, Extra, UOL, Estadão e Folha – para resolver esse problema. Por meio dele, a imprensa expôs sistematicamente os números sobre pessoas infectadas e óbitos por Covid-19 no país, especialmente na internet, onde foi possível explorar ferramentas como tabelas, mapas interativos e infográficos para deixar o usuário diante dos próprios dados. E fez questão de remeter o crédito, repetidamente, ao trabalho realizado pelo consórcio de imprensa. Contudo, esse artigo pretende compreender, sob a luz da teoria do Agenda Setting, se a imprensa teria usado o consórcio para mediar a relação entre indivíduos e realidade social, pautando os assuntos da esfera pública e colocando a pandemia de Covid-19 em evidência no Brasil.
O desenvolvimento da Internet trouxe e continua trazendo significativas mudanças para o jornalismo e suas práticas. Um dos maiores impactos é a perda de domínio da informação por parte dos veículos tradicionais de comunicação. Nesse sentido, o presente trabalho tem como objetivo fazer um levantamento sistematizado acerca das novas práticas e reconfigurações no campo jornalístico a partir da internet e por conseguinte com o surgimento das redes sociais virtuais. Para tanto, metodologicamente se sustenta em revisão de literatura, tendo como principais aportes teóricos Castells (2015, 2017), Recuero (2009) e Jenkins (2009). A leitura e sistematização das informações acerca dessa temática permitem perceber que o meio é influenciado pelo conteúdo que nele existe e pelas interações em torno desse conteúdo, assim, as redes sociais na internet não surgiram para suplantar o jornalismo, pelo contrário, elas surgem como novas ferramentas e novos espaços de interação social para o jornalismo.
