Approach and develop creativity, it is still a challenge because many people believe that creativity is a special talent. Thus, based on the relationship between neuroscience and education, this paper discusses the use of Mind Map tool as a possible contributor in the development of self-awareness to the potential of creative behavior. The study involved data collection from a practical experience in a course given to 16 students of technical and technological education of the Federal Institute of Science and Technology Education, Campus Rio Grande. The instruments used were Chaffee Creativity Test (2000), questionnaires, analysis sheet of written productions and observation sheet. The results show that the most self perceive moderately creative, but that such a situation does not always correspond to reality and that new effective teaching strategies can help teachers in their pedagogical actions in the pursuit of optimization of cognitive development of their students.
