The use of sewage treated in drip irrigation subjects the system to a high risk of clogging by several factors. Get the features of this process favors the application of clearance methods. Thus the aim of the research was to characterize the blocking agents in drip irrigation using treated sewage and fresh water by scanning electron microscopy. The experiment was conducted at the National Institute for SemiArid in the city of Campina Grande-PB. It consisted of the operation of three dripline the labyrinth 1188 h, monitored by statistical coefficient of uniformity. After the obstruction of the dripline was made scanning electron microscopy (SEM) with analysis of energy detector X-ray dispersive (EDS). Found by SEM coverage made by the biofilm, causing material obstruction throughout the maze, being wider scope in the use of wastewater. The EDS analysis showed the composition of biofilm have different chemical elements in varying amounts to the dripline, inferring that deposition of such components is dependent on the internal configuration of the emitters.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
