RESUMO A sociedade tem exigido da indústria cimenteira soluções para minimizar a emissão de CO2 causada pelo processo de fabricação de cimento Portland. A utilização de materiais cimentícios suplementares (MCS’s) substituindo parte do clínquer é uma das opções mais viáveis para reduzir a emissão desse poluente. O cimento LC3 é um novo tipo de cimento que utiliza altos teores de MCS’s, contando com a reação sinérgica entre argila calcinada e fíler calcário para obter resistências mecânicas similares às dos cimentos tradicionais. Esta pesquisa se propõe a investigar a influência do conteúdo de gipsita na resistência à compressão de um cimento LC3 aos 1, 3, 7, 28 e 91dias, tendo em vista que os efeitos da variação do teor de gipsita na resistência mecânica do cimento LC3 são pouco compreendidos. Para a realização deste estudo foram produzidas seis argamassas. Em três delas o cimento de referência (clínquer+ gipsita) foi produzido com 3, 5, 7% de gipsita, sem adições. Em três argamassas foi utilizado um cimento LC3 com 45% de substituição do clínquer (30% de argila calcinada e 15% de fíler calcário). A proporção de gipsita nesses cimentos foi de 3, 5 e 7% em relação à massa total. Foram avaliadas as propriedades no estado fresco por meio do ensaio de espalhamento, levando-se em consideração o teor de superplastificante utilizado em cada argamassa. Para a análise do estado endurecido, foi feita a comparação das resistências à compressão nas idades de 1, 3, 7, 28 e 91 dias. Foi realizada uma análise estatística (ANOVA e teste de DUNCAN) sobre os resultados. A partir dos resultados obtidos foi possível verificar que o teor de gipsita influencia na resistência à compressão do cimento LC³. Nas primeiras idades, de 1 a 7 dias, os maiores resultados de resistência à compressão foram obtidos por cimentos com teores de gipsita de 5%. Nessas três idades o cimento LC3 com 5% de gipsita teve resultados comparáveis com os cimentos de referência. Aos 28 e 91 dias os cimentos LC3 com 7% de gipsita levaram aos maiores valores de resistência à compressão, sendo que o maior valor aos 91 dias foi de 40,0 Mpa, comparável aos cimentos de referência.
