The aim of the AgroFE project is to play an important role in Agro-forestry trainings. Depending on the European countries, states or professional organizations and training actors try to reintroduce Agro forestry in the course of training and qualification in initial training and in adult education. The main objectives are to make a synthesis of needs and expectations, based on present the existing training actions and to set up a common framework; to build an innovative training system (contextualized, modularized trainings, use of ICT, professionals participation); to create a technical collaborative support for the implementation of the project with communication tools (information of partners and promotion) and for providing access to the resources and training services during and after the project (knowledge databank, interactive services). The user profiles (user groups) are Teachers, Professionals, Students, People with disabilities in professional situations, Knowledge feeders, Knowledge builders and aggregators. There are needs for handling many formats in the knowledge databank (Text in different file structures; Pictures or images; Audio and video files; Data and figures; Container format for exchange contents Pdf, html, Epub 3, etc.). More open source and exist tools and services have been evaluated, tested and used in creating the service architectures and finalize the system components. The Learning Management System, Collaborative Space, Videoconference Systems, Video Repository are implemented and used in the project. The architecture concept of the Knowledge Data Base and Services have been developed. The paper describes the results of the developments. The Moodle LMS system and videoconference servers (which can be used by videoconference equipment, user client software on desktop, notebook and smart-phone) is used for Collaborative working and learning environment. The Moodle (powerful, secure open source) learning and collaborative platform is used as project management, project assessments tools and e-learning / on-line learning. The videconference systems integrated with the Moodle system can demonstrate and show the path towards the near future service similar to the MOOC concept.
A B S T R A C TThe aim of the AgroFE project (www.agrofe.eu) is to develop vocational training in the field of agroforestry in 6 countries: United Kingdom, Belgium, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania and France. Several levels of training are targeted by the project, levels N3-N4 relate to farmers and future farmers, levels N5 + / N6 affect (future) advisors, trainers, teachers, technicians who are working in the domain. In the context of ICT related to the AgroFE project there are four components, the collaborative tools (OTC-CWS), the Knowledge Data Bank (KDB-BDC), the tools for training and a portal that integrates the tools. The knowledge data bank is a component of the project training system. It aims to gather and share a set of documents, resources that partners can use and which will have been accessed by learners and the public users. The project focuses to the newest innovative ICT solutions and trends. The knowledge data bank is to enable the sharing, access and consultation in the use of certain resources for training. These resources are under different forms: Mono document object (like a photo, a text, a diagram) and Composite materials (for example a html web page with images, a pdf file with pictures and diagrams, a video clip with images and sounds ...). The prototype of the AgroFE project is based on a software, RUBEDO, developed in PHP and RUBEDO is built on different components: a data base management software (DBMS-SGBD), type 'NoSQL', MongoDB, and the user interface uses the ElasticSearch search engine. The paper describes the prototype system and the used ICT tools in the project, such as LMS and the collaborative working environment.
Agroforestry systems are part of the history of the European Union rural landscapes, but the regional increase of size of agricultural parcels had a significant effect on European land use in the 20th century, thereby it has radically reduced the coverage of natural forest. However, this cause conflicts between interest of agricultural and forestry sectors. The agroforestry land uses could be a solution of this conflict management. One real – ecological – problem with the remnant forests and new forest plantation is the partly missing of network function without connecting ecological green corridors, the other problem is verifiability for the agroforestry payment system, monitoring the arable lands and plantations. Remote sensing methods are currently used to supervise European Union payments. Nowadays, next to use satellite imagery the airborne hyperspectral and LiDAR (Light Detection And Ranging) remote sensing technologies are becoming more widespread use for nature, environmental, forest, agriculture protection, conservation and monitoring and it is an effective tool for monitoring biomass production. In this Hungarian case study we made a Spatial Decision Support System (SDSS) to create agroforestry site selection model. The aim of model building was to ensure the continuity of ecological green corridors, maintain the appropriate land use of regional endowments. The investigation tool was the more widely used hyperspectral and airborne LiDAR remote sensing technologies which can provide appropriate data acquisition and data processing tools to build a decision support system.
