The negative environmental impacts of agricultural waste typically draw attention. However, agricultural waste has beneficial uses as an energy source, chemical recycling agent, and chemical adsorbent. This review examines the characterization, reuse, treatment, and management (minimization) of agricultural waste. Agricultural Water Pollution. Pierantozzi et al. (2012) examined physicochemical, toxicological, and genotoxicological properties of olive mill wastewater, olive wet husk, and olive brine. The results showed that olive wastes' inhibitory effects on seed germination and seedling growth, and the direct use of olive wastes for other agricultural processes should be limited because of their possible chemotoxic, phytotoxic, and antimicrobial effects.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
