Diarréia neonatal em bovinos é um quadro complexo, normalmente responsável por altas taxas de morbidade e mortalidade. Os prejuízos são observados não somente nos gastos com a medicação, mas também na perda do animal em caso de morte e na redução do desenvolvimento e do desempenho do futuro animal adulto, comprometendo os índices de ganho de peso ou produção leiteira. A etiologia múltipla da enfermidade envolve a interação de diversas variáveis dos agentes, hospedeiro e meio ambiente. Nesta revisão são abordados os aspectos clínicos da colibacilose sanitário, a prevenção e o tratamento são também abordados.
A leptospirose é uma zoonose distribuída mundialmente. Leptospira sp. são espiroquetas patogênicas que colonizam os túbulos renais de animais, sendo eliminadas para o ambiente através da urina, permanecendo viáveis.3 São capazes de invadir tecidos por meio da pele ou mucosas, e se disseminar e replicar em tecidos e órgãos.4 Também estimulam a aderência de neutrófilos e a ativação de plaquetas, causando alterações de coagulação.5 As lesões e a severidade da doença variam conforme a imunidade do hospedeiro e a virulência do patógeno. Objetivou-se relatar a apresentação clínica de um animal com leptospirose. Trata-se de um canino, da raça dachshund, fêmea, de nove anos de idade, apresentando mucosas hipocoradas, hipoglicemia, febre, letargia, prostração, dor generalizada. Foi realizada ultrassonografia abdominal, que constatou líquido livre na cavidade. A ultrassonografia abdominal é capaz de revelar alterações de imagem que podem orientar o diagnóstico clínico.3 A paciente foi submetida a uma laparotomia e mantida em transfusão sanguínea. Havia hemorragia intensa na cavidade abdominal, com falha no processo de coagulação, não apresentava lesões internas. Hemorragias são observadas na fase aguda da leptospirose.5 O hemograma apresentou resultados compatíveis com anemia hemolítica. No leucograma foi observado leucocitose, neutrofilia e monocitose. Bioquímicos demonstraram aumento nos valores de ALT e creatinina. O tempo de coagulação encontrava-se prolongado. A sorologia foi realizada através do método de microaglutinação, considerado padrão para diagnóstico da doença.5 O resultado foi confirmado, reagindo para o sorotipo: Bratislava em 1:50. Infecções em cães pelo sorovar Bratislava está associada a comprometimento renal e/ou hepático.3 A paciente permaneceu internada por treze dias, em infusão de antibióticos e terapia de suporte, apresentando gradativa diminuição dos sinais clínicos característicos da doença. Na consulta de retorno, foi realizada coleta de exames, para avaliação da melhora hematológica, a paciente apresentava-se alerta e ativa. Com este relato, constatou-se que esta enfermidade é capaz de promover diversas alterações clínicas e laboratoriais no animal. Observou-se também que o diagnóstico rápido é primordial para o desfecho do paciente nos casos de leptospirose.
Um ganso adulto macho (Anser cygnoides), da família Anseriformes, de idade desconhecida, proveniente de uma criação da Universidade Luterana do Brasil, foi encontrado morto, sem apresentar histórico clínico, e foi submetido à investigação post mortem no Setor de Patologia Veterinária do Hospital Veterinário. Com base nos achados de necropsia e no exame histopatológico, definiu-se como causa da morte do animal hemorragia interna em razão da ruptura de vasos sanguíneos em uma neoplasia no testículo direito (sertolioma), com metástase no fígado.
