Abstract:This work accompanies the everyday life of an inhabitant of Lorvão region in 1907 that, in the course of four months, recorded a personal diary of activities, events, almost no emotions. Although anonymous, this record permits reconstructing some of the tasks he embraces and part of his social network, mainly his links to the "Confraria das Almas" (Brotherhood of Souls). It also favors the reconstruction of a social framework dominated by agriculture, nonetheless articulated with workshop labor, management, leisure, and even technological innovation, described with the same sobriety he uses to annotate the regular cadence of days.
