Control-Aim: To determine red cell choline phosphoglyceride (CPG) fatty acids during pregnancy in control and gestational diabetics (GDM) and their offspring in London and Korean women. Subiects & Method: Women were recruited and underwent a 75g oral glucose tolerance test (0 between week 28-32 (London:Control n 4 l . GDM n=53; Korean Control40). Blood was taken at the time of delivery from the mother and cord. Fatty acids were analysed by a modified Folch method and expressed as % of total fatty acids (Mean * SD).Results: The % of CPG arachidonic acid (AA) and DHA was significantly higher in the cord RBC in all 3 groups compared with the maternal values. The Korean maternal RBC CPG DHA 8 (4.8f2.1) was significantly higher compared with the Control London (2.9d.6) and GDM (2.6i2.1) women (p
