RésuméLes parents influencent l'évolution de l'enfant et sa réussite scolaire, sportive ou musicale. Leur soutien par exemple est indispensable. Certains de leurs comportements peuvent aussi avoir un impact négatif. Il est nécessaire de chercher à mieux cerner les relations parents/ enfant, et leur influence sur la réussite et le bien-être d'un enfant. Pour cela, l'utilisation de questionnaires est profitable. Mais nous disposons de peu d'outils valides en français. Ceux qui le sont ne se centrent pas sur l'évaluation de dimensions centrales pour le développement de l'enfant. Pour pallier ce manque, cet article a pour objet la validation du Questionnaire d'éva-luation des relations parents/enfant (QÉRPE), traduction en français (EMBU; Egna Minnen Beträffende Uppfostran, Perris, Jacobsson, Lindströöm, von Knorring & Perris, 1980). Il met en évidence les niveaux de support, surprotection et rejet ressentis par l'enfant de la part de ses parents. Il est ici appliqué aux relations parents/sportif. La structure factorielle (analyses exploratoire et confirmatoire) et la consistance interne du QÉRPE ont été testées, et une validation externe a été réalisée. Les résultats obtenus démontrent que les qualités psychomé-triques du QÉRPE sont très acceptables.
Résumé Le but de cette étude est de mettre en évidence les différentes attitudes parentales envers les joueurs de tennis grâce aux points de vue des entraîneurs. Des entretiens semi-structurés ont été réalisés avec 20 entraîneurs expérimentés. Ils se sont exprimés sur les rôles et comportements favorables et défavorables des parents, ainsi que sur leurs propres relations avec eux. La méthode d’analyse de contenu thématique hiérarchique a été utilisée (Gould, Tuffey, Udry et Loehr, 1996). Deux catégories générales ont été distinguées : les comportements positifs et négatifs. Les résultats permettent de dégager une synthèse relativement complète des diverses attitudes des parents, selon les entraîneurs. La majorité des thèmes sont confirmés par les travaux antérieurs, d’autres sont plus novateurs (comme l’alternance valorisation excessive / dénigrement de l’enfant ou la violence physique et verbale). Des différences de comportements selon le sexe du parent ont également été signalées par les entraîneurs. Il est difficile de définir des règles générales sur les attitudes préférentielles des parents car chaque relation parents/enfant est unique et les résultats sont liés au regard extérieur des entraîneurs, mais ce travail peut servir de base pour informer et guider les parents sur les comportements à éviter et à privilégier.
