Este estudo buscou verificar representações sociais das mulheres que sofrem ou sofreram algum tipo de violência de seus companheiros, buscando entender a subjetivação desse fenômeno, como também verificar os principais prejuízos nas esferas sociais, psicológicas e ocupacionais dessas mulheres. 12 participantes responderam a entrevista semiestruturada, e foram feitas análises de conteúdo de Bardin (2002) e ancoradas na Teoria das Representações Sociais de Moscovici. Como resultado foi constatado que a maior prevalência é a violência psicológica, causando danos emocionais a longo prazo, trazendo sérios prejuízos nas esferas do desenvolvimento e da saúde psicológica da mulher. Verificou-se também que o ciclo de violência é alimentado pela tolerância e autoculpa e pela má compreensão da mesma. Propõem-se outros estudos nesta esfera com finalidade de maior compreensão do fenômeno da violência contra as mulheres.

A Síndrome da Imunodeficiência Adquirida tem tratamento e possibilidades efetivas de controle, motivando estudos e intervenções profissionais direcionados para a melhoria da qualidade de vida. Este artigo objetiva avaliar a percepção da Síndrome da Imunodeficiência Adquirida e da qualidade de vida por soropositivos para o Vírus da Imunodeficiência Humana. Participaram deste estudo 91 sujeitos de ambos os sexos. Foi utilizado o teste de associação livre de palavras, cujos dados foram processados pelo software Tri-Deux-Mots e interpretados por meio da análise fatorial de correspondência. A Síndrome da Imunodeficiência Adquirida foi representada como uma doença que pode trazer inúmeras conseqüências psicossociais, profissionais, familiares e orgânicas. A qualidade de vida, por sua vez, foi representada em elementos que possuem características tanto subjetivas quanto objetivas, abrangendo, dessa maneira, diferentes domínios presentes no conceito de qualidade de vida preconizado pela Organização Mundial de Saúde, tais como: domínio psicológico, relações sociais, ambiente e aspectos espirituais. Os antiretrovirais, apesar de propiciarem uma melhora global, não são suficientes, havendo, ainda, a necessidade de uma abordagem dos transtornos psicológicos para que haja uma qualidade de vida num sentido mais amplo.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: left; margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; layout-grid-mode: char;" align="left"><span class="text"><span style="font-family: ";Arial";,";sans-serif";; font-size: 9pt;">In this paper we revisit the minimum mean square error (MMSE) pilot-aided channel estimation for broadband orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. The careful design of OFDM symbol leads to the proposal of a simplified time-domain (TD) MMSE estimator. By exploring the Fourier properties of the symbol, the investigated method eliminates the need to use direct or inverse discrete Fourier transforms (DFT/IDFT) before the channel estimation, by using the TD received symbol samples as the input to the MMSE filter. Moreover, performing the estimation in TD (where the channel impulse response (CIR) energy is mainly limit to a small set of samples), makes way to a simple, nonetheless efficient estimation of the filter parameters. The performance of the channel estimation scheme, using the estimated parameters, presents a tolerable degradation when compared with the ideal situation (a-priori knowledge of the channel correlation and noise variance), while exhibiting a reduced computational load. Abstract. This paper presents MarkPledge3 (MP3), the most efficient specification of the MarkPledge (MP) technique. The MP technique allows the voter to verify that her vote is correctly encrypted with a soundness of 1 − 2 −α , with 20 ≤ α ≤ 30, just by performing a match of a small string (4-5 characters). Due to its simplicity, verifying the election public data (vote encryptions and tally) in MP3 is 2.6 times faster than with MP2 and the vote encryption creation on devices with low computational power, e.g. smart cards, is approximately 6 times better than the best of the previous MP specifications (MP1 and MP2).

Abstract. Code voting is a technique used to address the secure platform problem of remote voting. A code voting system consists in secretly sending, e.g. by mail, code sheets to voters that map their choices to entry codes in their ballot. While voting, the voter uses the code sheet to know what code to enter in order to vote for a particular candidate. In effect, the voter does the vote encryption and, since no malicious software on the PC has access to the code sheet it is not able to change the voter's intention. However, without compromising the voter's privacy, the vote codes are not enough to prove that the vote is recorded and counted as cast by the election server.We present a voter verifiable code voting solution which, without revealing the voter's vote, allows the voter to verify, at the end of the election, that her vote was cast and counted as intended by just performing the match of a few small strings. Moreover, w.r.t. a general code voting system, our solution comes with only a minor change in the voting interaction.
