INTRODUÇÃO: O Tromboembolismo venoso e suas manifestações possuem alta morbimortalidade, são a principal causa de morte evitável em pacientes hospitalizados. Embora tenha mortalidade superior ao câncer não vislumbramos nenhuma campanha alusiva ao tema. Objetivos: Realizar campanha a nível municipal para divulgação do assunto e avaliar o conhecimento de nossa população sobre Trombose Venosa Profunda (TVP), suas manifestações clínicas, diagnóstico e formas de prevenção. Material e métodos: estudo prospectivo e transversal avaliando o conhecimento sobre a doença, através de questionário estruturado. Palestras alusivas ao tema serão realizadas com aplicação do questionário previamente; os acadêmicos do curso de Medicina de uma instituição do interior de Rondônia também participarão. Disponibilizar-se-á termo de consentimento livre e esclarecido. Resultados: entrevistamos 106 pacientes e 81 discentes, a maioria do sexo feminino, adultos jovens. A maioria dos discentes pertenciam ás séries iniciais do curso. A maioria dos entrevistados entendiam que TVP é doença vascular, acometendo membros inferiores, confundindo, em ambos os grupos, sintomas com erisipela, tratamento com necessidade de cirurgia e até amputação. A maioria, de ambos os grupos, descreve fatores de risco adequadamente. Alta incidência do uso de contracepção hormonal entre os discentes, destacando-se ansiedade e depressão como comorbidades. Na população predomínio de pacientes portadores de varizes. Discussão: análise da literatura indica que 51% dos brasileiros desconhecem a Trombose e suas manifestações. Embora de alta prevalência e morbimortalidade, a Trombose Venosa Profunda é desconhecida, pode ser evitada e prevenida.Palavras-chave : trombose venosa profunda, educação médica, doenças vasculares. O baço, durante muito tempo considerado um órgão sem função definida, é hoje considerado um elaborado sistema de defesa, principalmente de fagocitose. O presente estudo visa conhecer a influência da esplenectomia total sobre a capacidade fagocitária total. Utilizaram-se 26 ratos machos com 180 dias de idade, divididos em 3 grupos: controle (n=10), sham (n=8) e esplenectomizados (n=8). Submetreram-se os animais do grupo sham à laparotomia mediana sob anestesia geral intra-peritoneal de tiopental sódico e os do grupo esplenectomia à laparotomia e esplenectomia total. Após 7 dias colheram-se amostras de sangue. Em seguida injetou-se ferro na dose de 2mg/kg de ferro e colheram-se novas amostras após 5 e 15 minutos da injeção. Dosou-se o ferro sérico nas amostras coletas e calculou-se o índice de fagocitose pela equação de Biozzi e col. O índice de fagocitose foi semelhante nos grupos controle e sham (p=0,143086) e menor no grupo dos esplenectomizados (p=0,0006850). Observou-se que a capacidade fagocitária total está diminuída após esplenectomia, em ratos.
Introdução: O Projeto Mais Médicos para o Brasil, criado em 2013, visando prover médicos para áreas de difícil fixação de profissionais e oferecer treinamento em Saúde da Família para médicos brasileiros e estrangeiros, promoveu melhoria da infraestrutura das unidades de saúde, ampliando a oferta de vagas para graduação e residência médica. Com intuito de formar profissionais generalistas, alinhado ao projeto, entraram em vigor as novas Diretrizes Curriculares dos cursos de Medicina. A partir de então a visão do médico foi ampliada além de conhecimentos teóricos, diferenciando-se da formação inicial hospitalocêntrica e especializada, comum aos docentes e preceptores atuais. Objetivo: Com o objetivo de avaliar os conhecimentos dos médicos participantes do programa, elaboramos questionário sobre o conhecimento e prática de assuntos comuns na Cirurgia Vascular, Trombose Venosa Profunda e Pé diabético. Relato: Os resultados mostram que na região pesquisada, Região do Café e Zona da Mata, áreas do interior de Rondônia, a maioria dos médicos pertencentes ao programa são jovens, do sexo feminino, com tempo de formação entre um e dois anos, atuando também no programa, na sua maioria, neste período. A maioria domina os conhecimentos básicos sobre as duas patologias, o quadro clínico e a forma de diagnóstico, o equívoco ocorreu entre o diagnóstico de trombose venosa profunda e erisipela, e no manejo e cuidado das ulcerações, comuns no universo das doenças vasculares. Confrontando dados da literatura percebemos que as divergências são comuns em outros centros, estando os entrevistados aquém das estatísticas pois reconhecem a neuropatia na imensa maioria dos pacientes, examinando os pés dos mesmos na maioria dos atendimentos.Conclusão: Concluímos que estudos desta proporção são importantes para corrigir eventuais distorções durante o curso de Medicina, modificando o cenário de saúde no nosso país.
