2.Bestimmung d e r F e r m e n t a k t i v i t i i t Die Aktivitiitsmessungen wurden in einem Warburg-Geriit vorgenommen. Die Reaktionsansiitze bestanden aus je 1,0 ml Losung der beiden Substrate in McIZvaine-Puffer, pH 6,0, und 0,5 ml Ferment-Verdunnung. Die Ferment-Verdiinnungen befanden sich in den Geitenbirnen der ReaktionsgefaBe und wurden nach dem Temperaturausgleich in den Hauptraum zu der Substratlosung gegeben. In dem Einsatzraum der ReaktionsgefiiBe befand sich 0,l ml l0proz. Natronlauge und ein damit gesiittigtes Stiickchen Filtrierpapier, um etwa entstehende Kohlensiiure zu binden. Die Versuchstemperatur betrug 25", Schiittelfrequenz 140 Schwingungen/Min. Unter 1 Ferment-Einheit ist 1 Cresolase-Einheit zu verstehen, die in Anlehnung an Graubard und Nekonll) bei maximaler Reaktionsgeschwindigkeit bei 25" und pH 6,O gegeniiber optimalen Mengen p-Kresol eine Sauerstoff-Aufnahme von 10 pl pro Min. bewirkt.Die Angaben uber die prozentuale Hemmung oder Aktivierung der Reaktionen erfolgte auf Grund des Sauerstoff-Verbrauches nach 20 Min.
