This work shows the SPICE PWL (PieceWise Linear) macromodel development aiming a pseudo-resistor simulation. The lack of a SPICE simulation model that correctly describes the pseudo-resistor behavior is the main inspiration of this designing. A bio-amplifier for the QRS complex detection was made as a case study for the validation of the developed PWL macromodel. The temperature dependency of the pseudo-resistor equivalent resistance also was characterized and included in the macromodel. The circuits lay-out were developed using the Global Foundries 8HP 0.13 µm technology, resulting in a fabricated integrated circuit. To draw the bio-amplifier gain response and its transitory recovery time behaviors, some experimental analyses was made. Experimental analysis with an emulated ECG signal also was made to characterize the bio-amplifier as a QRS detector, and the obtained results were very well. A few bio-amplifier simulation results that include the macromodel were presented in order to evaluate this device. Furthermore, bioamplifier characterization were also carried out as a function of temperature variation. All of the analysis early mentioned were performed considering the temperature variation from room temperature up to 60 ºC. Comparing the simulated response and the experimental data with same input conditions, can be seen that de proposed macromodel provides a suitable pseudo-resistor behavior
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
