O presente trabalho tem como objetivo propor o uso da Sequência Fedathi acompanhado da metacognição no ensino de equações do 1° grau. Foi proposta a junção de ambas, com o intuito de observar de que forma elas podem contribuir para uma melhor aprendizagem desse conteúdo dentro da sala de aula. Produziu-se um plano de aula que foi baseado nas fases da SF e será a partir de suas fases, que a metacognição será incentivada. Este segue a estrutura de um planejamento de acordo com a Sequência Fedathi e visa trabalhar com o conteúdo de equações do 1° grau em uma turma de 8° ano do Ensino Fundamental, por meio do uso da metacognição como estratégia didática do professor. Esse estudo se trata de uma pesquisa de iniciação cientifica, em andamento, cuja implementação acontecerá via ensino remoto através do Google meet e Whatsapp, pois a coleta de dados acontecerá no próximo semestre. Tem uma abordagem de cunho qualitativo, pois se trata de um artigo voltado para observar formas de se ensinar matemática. Espera-se com o presente estudo que os alunos possam compreender a construção matemática desse assunto e que desenvolvam mais autonomia e outras formas de aprender. Além disso, enseja-se reflexões sobre a forma de ensinar equações do 1° grau e que esse conteúdo possa ser trabalhado de forma mais próxima ao aluno, ou seja, de maneira mais interessante e significativa. E também possa ajudar o professor a melhorar a sua intervenção dentro da sala de aula, pois ele passa a ter conhecimento do saber dos discentes conduzindo-os a ter conhecimento do próprio conhecimento, isto é, ajudando os alunos a aprender a aprender.
