O uso público de uma unidade de conservação é caracterizado como a forma pela qual os visitantes utilizam essas áreas. As atividades provenientes do uso provocam efeitos positivos no âmbito socioeconômico; no entanto, sem mecanismos de controle e de monitoramento, podem proporcionar impactos negativos ao meio. Diante deste contexto, o objetivo do estudo foi realizar o levantamento de dados sobre a atual situação do uso público do Parque Estadual do Monge, localizado no município da Lapa, Paraná. A coleta de informações se deu por meio de questionário aplicado ao gestor da unidade. Os dados sobre a visitação, referentes aos anos de 2012 a 2016, foram obtidos por meio do Instituto de Água e Terra do Paraná. Observou-se nos resultados uma crescente taxa de visitação ao longo dos anos, porém não se têm dados mais específicos sobre o perfil desses visitantes e a sua satisfação. Notou-se a necessidade de melhoria na infraestrutura e sinalização do Parque, bem como implementação dos subprogramas de uso público previstos no plano de manejo. Neste sentido, recomenda-se atenção aos parâmetros para gestão da unidade, de modo que a visitação possa ser potencializada estrategicamente, estimulando a participação social, com vistas a garantir os objetivos de criação do Parque Estadual do Monge.
O uso público em unidades de conservação brasileiras é considerado um instrumento estratégico para a aprendizagem e incentivo da conservação da natureza, já que a abertura e a adequada gestão dessas áreas possibilitam sua aproximação com a sociedade. Porém, essas atividades possuem uma complexidade de fatores sociais e ambientais. O objetivo desta pesquisa foi realizar o diagnóstico da gestão do uso público do Parque Estadual do Guartelá, localizado em Tibagi/PR. O trabalho foi elaborado com base na adaptação dos princípios indicados no Roteiro Metodológico para Impactos da Visitação, produzido pelo Instituto Chico Mendes de Conservação da Biodiversidade, e na sistematização de informações contidas em fichas de cadastro de visitantes. Observou-se que, no período de 2007 a 2016, a área recebeu um total de 175.338 pessoas, apresentando uma média de 17.533 por ano, sendo que 94,60% da demanda de visitantes concentra-se em apenas um atrativo. A caracterização da gestão da visitação da unidade mostrou uma ausência de monitoramento sistematizado decorrente da falta de dados básicos, como tipificação da experiência e satisfação do usuário, de modo a fragilizar as ações de manejo.
As áreas protegidas objetivam a conservação da biodiversidade. Analisando relações bióticas e abióticas da Área de Especial Interesse Turístico do Marumbi (AEIT), situada na serra do mar paranaense e que contempla cinco Parques Estaduais em ambiente montanhoso sob o domínio da Floresta Ombrófila Densa, buscam-se indicadores de efetividade ecológica. Através da construção e interpretação cartográfica, do georreferenciamento, do intercruzamento dos aspectos geológicos, dos geomorfológicos, dos hidrográficos, dos vegetacionais, da altimetria, da declividade e perímetros das unidades de conservação (UC), revelaram a distribuição de 3.703 nascentes em 66.000 hectares (ha), média de uma a cada 18,02 ha. A maior parte na Montana (600 a 1200m s.n.m.) com 53% e na Submontana (30 a 600m s.n.m) com 26,5%. Diferentemente da bibliografia consultada que indicava abundância de nascentes nas cimeiras; o resultado foi 6,7% na Altomontana e 1,8% nos Campos de Altitude (acima de 1200m s.n.m). No cruzamento de nascentes com domínios geológicos, o granito apresenta 57,7% de ocorrência e o complexo migmatitico 35,2% sendo este na relação unidade/área mais representativo. Apenas 20,4% das nascentes estão em unidades de conservação (ucs) de proteção integral analisadas.
