We have obtained and analyzed the 600 MHz proton NMR spectra of a 74-mer RNA derived from the catalyttc domain of hepatttts delta vtrus genomic RNA (HDV RNA) to determme its secondary structure Deconvolutton of the NMR spectrum obtamed at 32°C mdicates that part of the 74.mer RNA molecule may exist m multiple conformattons m equilibrtum The major conformer contams t&o A-U base pans and I4 2 2 G~C base pairs It appears to contain no standard G-U base pairs. Our NMR melttng study suggests that this conformer has at least two stem-loop regions, One of the regtons has been tdentificd to be a tetra-loop. We have assigned five ammo proton resonances of the tetra-loop stem Our data ts conststent wth the pseudoknot model of Perrotta and Been Rtbozyme. RNA: Structure, NMR. Hcpatitts delta vtrus
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
