Upland rice potential needs to be explored from various aspects so that it can really contribute to the increase in national rice production. Potential of upland rice apart from the potential aspects of resources availability also needs to be explored from the social and economic aspects that were studied in the concept of agribusiness. Potential in resource and social were being investigated by the qualitative method, while potential in economics was being investigated by the quantitative method, namely R/C ratio analysis. The results showed: (a) The resources potential in the form of land availability and an increase of upland rice productivity in South Konawe District. Upland rice also has the advantage of adaptation in various agroecology, soil types, and types of plants in intercropping systems; (b) The social potential in the form of farmers’ knowledge and skills regarding upland rice cultivation which tends to the concept of organic farming, socio characteristics and social capital; (c) The economic potential in the form of higher prices for rice from upland rice than rice from lowland rice, limited market share, and high financial feasibility.
Sago is a potential source of food with high calories and carbohydrates (rice equivalent). Sago consumer preferences can provide important information in making marketing strategy sago, and also is one of the indicators of market demand for the products of sago. The purpose of this study were to understand the srage of the purchase decision process undertaken by consumers of sago; analyze the level of customer satisfaction with sago attributes associated from sago; and analyze the consumer preference for various atrributes inherent in sago. The study was conducted in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi Province. Respondents were all members of a population of 21 respondents consisting of 15 restaurant owners who provide meals made from sago and 6 owners agro-industry made from raw sago. The study used Engel Model Analysis, Costumer Satisfaction Index (CSI) Analysis, and Conjoint Analysis. The results of the analysis gives an overview of some consumer behavior based on the decision-making process shows that the benefits sought in the purchase buy sago sago is as a raw material to be processed into a menu of traditional food and traditional cakes Kendari. Color sago is the main thing, which will be seen and considered by consumers to make purchases between and will buy sago in traditional markets as close to the place of business. The level of consumer satisfaction in this study were satisfied with the preference category that consumers like sago with normal color (pure white), normal scent (odorless), low prices and package sizes are 20 kg. The resulting combination of sago four attributes (color, flavor, price and package sizes) is acceptable to describe consumers' desire sago in Kendari. Product syrup varies make consumers have different perceptions in choosing syrup products as they wish. Product attributes include marketing stimuli that can affect consumer perception. The purpose of this study was to determine the composition of coconut water taste syrup according to consumer perceptions. The design of this study is the experimental method and descriptive with the stage of product testing laboratory scale and descriptive analysis. A test to determine the composition of flavors preference by consumers conducted by 25 panelists with two replications. Parameters measured were the taste, color, aroma and texture. The results show that the composition according to the taste of the consumer perception is coconut flavors syrup cocopandan water and adding sugar to 65% with an average value of 3.56. The average value of each attribute is a sense of 3.54, 3.72 color, aroma 3,58 and texture 3.56.Keywords: taste, coconut water syrup, Perception.
The purpose of this study was (1) To analyze the level of comparative and competitive advantage of sago processing enterprises in East Kolaka Regency? (2) Examine the impact of government policy on the comparative and competitive advantage of sago processing enterprises in East Kolaka Regency. The study employed the Policy Analysis Matrix (PAM) analysis. The population of the study was sago-processing farmers in the sub-regency of Tirawuta of East Kolaka regency. The samples were 15 respondents. The variables of the study were output price, foreign costs, domestic costs, private price, and shadow prices. The results showed that the sago processing business in East Kolaka Generally sago processing business in East Kolaka have a positive level of comparative advantage with the value of Domestic Resource Cost Ratio (DRCR) of 0.27 and has a positive level of competitive advantage with value Private Cast ratio (PCR) 0.31. This suggests that the sago processing business in East Kolaka feasible to develop even enhanced in the future. Government policies that have not been in favor of sago processing business in East Kolaka lead this comparative effort advantage tend to decrease with Effective indicator Protection Coefficient (EPC) of 0.76, while the output policy causes Transfer Input value of IT value of Rp. (134.900). This indicates the absence of a purchase price policy on output area (Aci sago).
