The article touches upon the problem of necessity to change pedagogical methods and technologies in high school education that are determined by the changes in modern society. The authors point out that the up-to-date society is deeply plunged into digital technologies and the reality is that methods being used in education cannot meet the requirements of the present. In this regard the authors speculate that application of digital technologies, namely laboratory facilities of virtual reality in training process of technical university students is able to improve the education quality. The goal of this research is to prove this theory. The authors give a thorough comparative analysis of academic literature that describes the existing virtual reality facilities which are widely used in higher educational establishments of transport abroad as well as in the Russian Federation. The typology of training facilities is given in the article, all advantages and drawbacks of digital technologies concerning the virtual reality on the example of reality simulators railway complexes have been described. With the help of statistic data processing methods that have been obtained by the experimental way the authors have proved that the application of reality simulators laboratory facilities can improve the quality of training at technical higher educational establishments.
This paper examines the peculiarities of teaching German as a second foreign language in a railway university. The analysis emphasizes the inefficiency of traditional methods and the success of the bilingual approach, which consists in a harmonious combination of methodological principles of teaching the first and second foreign languages. The authors carry out a theoretical analysis of the fundamental principles of teaching a second foreign language: a comparative approach, the principle of reliance on the first foreign and native languages, an autonomous approach, a cognitive principle. The paper deals with the issues related to interference and transfer in teaching a second foreign language. Project methods (simulation, presentation speech, Lapbook-technology) tested by the author in the learning process are offered as learning technologies, the use of which facilitates effective mastering of foreign language skills and abilities. The syllabus of the course A Second Foreign language developed by teachers of the Rostov State Transport University in accordance with the new edition of the Federal State Educational Standard is analyzed. The conclusion is made that this syllabus satisfies the requirements put forward by methodologists to the process of teaching a second foreign language. The analysis of the organization of the educational process with the use of textbooks and a fund of assessment tools prepared for the course is expected to be the subject of our further research.
The purpose of this research is to study the features, forms and structure, as well as the possibility of practical application of scribing in the process of teaching foreign language speech to students of technical universities. Scribing is considered to be a technology that has great didactic potential and contributes to the solution of pedagogical problems in various fields of knowledge. Having come to pedagogy from the business environment, this technology can also be used to develop oral speech skills in foreign languages. The main stages of scribing have been defined. It is noted that scribing technology can be considered as a type of project activity. The main advantages of this technology are highlighted. Paper versions of scribing on several topics have been developed and presented in accordance with the Foreign Languages Work Programs of the Rostov State Transport University. Methods of description, analysis, systematization and generalization of theoretical material have been used, as well as practical application of the studied technology during the classes of foreign languages. The analysis of the obtained results has been carried out. The results of the work will be of interest, first of all, to the tutors and teachers who are trying to apply innovative teaching technologies in the classroom. In future work, it is planned to develop and apply scribing for the presentation of other educational topics using online platforms.
