The study aims to know the effectiveness of mathematics teaching material used based on ethnomathematics toward mathematical solving problem skill and student critical thinking and to know how student activity on mathematics learning by applying mathematics teaching material based on ethnomathematics. Research method applies a quantitative method with post-test only control design research type. Sampling technique applies cluster random sampling. Data collection technique applies documentation, observation, and test method. Data analysis technique applies quantitative data analysis by using t-test. Based on data analysis result, mathematics teaching material based on ethnomathematics proves effective toward solving problem skill and student mathematical critical thinking. Besides, by applying mathematics teaching material can raise student activity.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kesalahan mahasiswa dalam menyelesaikan soal geometri analitik bidang pada materi garis dan lingkaran. Subyek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa pendidikan matematika semester II Universitas Muhammadiyah Sukabumi tahun akademik 2014/2015. Jenis dan pendekatan dalam penelitian ini adalah jenis penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Adapun teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan metode dokumentasi, tes dan wawancara. Analisis data dilakukan dengan cara membandingkan data hasil tes geometri analitik dan data hasil wawancara. Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan kesimpulan bahwa kesalahan mahasiswa dalam meyelesaikan soal geometri analitik materi garis dan lingkaran adalah kesalahan konsep, kesalahan hitung, kesalahan strategi dan kesalahan sistematik.
The design of HOTS Ethnic-Mathematics is the stage that has been intended in this study. This type of research is research and development (Research and Development) by producing results in the form of Mathematics Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) questions based on culture and local wisdom (Ethnic-Math HOTS). The development model referred to by the researcher is the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation (ADDIE) which is adapted into Analysis, Design, and Development (ADD). The conclusion of this paper is Mathematical problem designs that are integrated with local culture and local wisdom can be developed into questions that have a function to measure students' high-level abilities. High-level abilities that can be measured using these questions are analytical skills, evaluation skills and creative abilities. By completing questions related to the culture in the area around students, students will be more challenged and motivated to do it. In addition, it will increase students' knowledge about the local culture in the area.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui eksperimentasi model discovery learning dan model pembelajaran langsung terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis ditinjau dari motivasi belajar peserta didik pada mater segiempat dan segitiga. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini kuantitatif berupa eksperimen semu. Intrumen dalam penelitian ini adalah tes kemampuan berpikir kritis yang disajikan dalam bentuk post-test, kuesioner motivasi belajar dan lembar observasi. Analisis uji hipotesis dalam penelitian ini yaitu uji anava dua jalan sel tak sama dengan taraf signifikan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa: (1) Terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis antara peserta didik yang menggunakan model discovery learning dengan peserta didik yang menggunakan model pembelajaran langsung; (2) Terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik yang memiliki motivasi belajar tinggi dengan peserta didik yang memiliki motivasi belajar rendah.
This study aims to describe matters relating to mathematics in the architecture of traditional houses in Sukabumi. This type of research is a qualitative research with an ethnographic approach. Data collection techniques used in this study were interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data display, verification and inference. The results of this study indicate that in the architecture there are mathematical elements including geometry consisting of rectangles, squares, and lengths. The results of this study are expected to be used as an innovation in mathematics learning in elementary schools.
