DCO following TAVR is a rare phenomenon that is associated with a high in-hospital mortality rate. Clinicians should be aware that coronary obstruction can occur after the original TAVR procedure and have a low threshold for performing coronary angiography when clinically suspected.
The ARI ratio integrating pre- and post-procedural hemodynamic status increases the discriminatory value of post-procedural ARI. The ARI ratio, which reflects acute hemodynamic changes after TAVR, is useful to identify patients with negative outcomes.
Myocardial injury is common following TF TAVR. The extent of cardiac biomarker elevation depends on THV type but is not associated with adverse short- and long-term outcomes after uneventful TAVR.
Caval valve implantation for the treatment of severe TR and advanced right ventricular failure is associated with a high procedural success rate and seems safe and feasible in an excessive-risk cohort. The study demonstrates hemodynamic efficacy with consistent elimination of TR-associated venous backflow and initial clinical improvement. These results encourage further trials to determine which patients benefit most from this interventional approach.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
