Introducción: La Enfermedad de Parkinson es una patología neurodegenerativa que se caracteriza por la presencia de tres signos motores: temblor en reposo, bradicinesia y rigidez muscular. Objetivo: Investigar acerca de las terapias alternativas existentes en el tratamiento y manejo de los pacientes con la enfermedad de Parkinson. Métodos: Investigación bibliográfica con base en una búsqueda de información enfocada en las terapias alternativas en el manejo de pacientes con la enfermedad de Párkinson. Resultados: Las terapias alternativas más usadas en la Enfermedad de Parkinson son terapia ocupacional, fisioterapia, musicoterapia, arte y principalmente actividad física como danza, natación, Tai Chi, Yoga, Qi Gong y estiramientos. Conclusiones: Las terapias complementarias o alternativas son una buena opción para poder mejorar los síntomas motores y no motores y así brindar una mejor calidad de vida en los pacientes con Parkinson.
INTRODUCTION: Alternative therapies consist of a set of techniques and methods used for the treatment or prevention of diseases, especially in the mind, body and person, providing a balance between the environment and the cancer patient. OBJECTIVE: Analyze the application of alternative therapies in cancer patients for pain management. METHODOLOGY: This is a qualitative, cross-sectional bibliographic review, based on articles found in indexed journals of great academic prestige. The analysis of the information aims to publicize each of the alternative therapies that are used in a cancer patient to treat pain. DISCUSSION: Each of the alternative therapies that have been more effective in relieving pain, such as acupuncture and therapeutic massage, are mentioned in comparison to the others; which are based on managing pain in cancer patients and other symptoms during the course of conventional treatment. CONCLUSION: Each said therapy has its own advantages, from which it is concluded that alternative therapies are effective for pain management in patients with oncological diseases despite the fact that there is little scientific evidence.
Introducción: El síndrome de Mirizzi es una inflamación aguda o crónica causada por cálculos impactados en la bolsa de Hartmann o en el conducto cístico, es importante reconocer los 5 tipos de síndrome de Mirizzi. Objetivo: Analizar un caso clínico relacionado con el Síndrome de Mirrizi, describiendo la etiología y planteando su respectivo diagnóstico y tratamiento. Caso Clínico: En la actualidad aún existe el debate sobre el tratamiento del Síndrome de Mirizzi donde la intervención quirúrgica convencional no es la primera elección, pero por la complejidad de la enfermedad se la debe realizar. Conclusiones: El síndrome de Mirizzi es una complicación poco frecuente en pacientes con colelitiasis y su tratamiento debe basarse dependiendo a la tipología a la cuál pertenece, es decir, se debe elegir una colecistectomía laparoscópica o convencional, teniendo en cuenta el riego y beneficio del paciente.
