<p>Salud, contemporáneamente, se entiende como un estado de completo bienestar físico, mental y social, y no solamente la ausencia de enfermedad. La actividad asistida por animales cumple este concepto y ya se utiliza hace unos años, como medida complementaria al tratamiento farmacológico, con el objetivo de la mejora y el bienestar del paciente. Su eficacia se ha demostrado a través de estudios de todo el mundo, en diferentes áreas como pediatría, geriatría y psiquiatría, entre otros, y trayendo beneficios tanto físicos como para la salud mental de las personas institucionalizadas. Ante esta realidad, hemos tratado de identificar cuáles son las investigaciones publicadas sobre el tema hasta el año 2013, en cinco bases de datos principales (Bireme, Cochrane, Embase, Pubmed y Scielo) de la palabra “animal-assisted activity”. Se excluyeron los elementos repetidos en la misma base de datos, así como uno en japonés , uno en alemán, y que se centró en la terapia asistida con animales y no en la actividad asistida por animales. 55 artículos fueron encontrados en las cinco bases de datos: Bireme (28), Embase (13) Cochrane (1) Pubmed (11) y Scielo (2). Sólo 17 artículos cumplieron los criterios de inclusión preestablecidos. Todos mostraron resultados positivos en la aplicación de la actividad asistida por animales para los enfermos o personas en el aislamiento social. De este modo, se puede observar que esta práctica, aunque importante para ayudar a la búsqueda de lo bienestar integral del paciente y que está siendo acepta y formalizado en muchos países, sigue estando muy poco extendida científicamente</p>
<p>La presente investigación fue diseñada para verificar cuáles son las razones que conllevan a las personas con enfermedad de Alzheimer a interponer un recurso legal. Para ello, se buscó en la página web del Tribunal de Río Grande do Sul, en el trascurso de un año, las decisiones de los recursos judiciales que contenían la palabra "Alzheimer". Fueron encontradas 65 decisiones relacionadas con la enfermedad de Alzheimer. De ellas, la mayoría correspondió a solicitudes de medicamentos (61,6%), seguido de solicitud de pañales (17,0%). Es importante que se dé el cumplimiento de la legislación, posibilitando disminuir la cantidad de interpuestas judiciales, así como la importancia de que se genere la comprensión de la gravedad de esta enfermedad, para que los procesos se den de manera rápida, haciendo que no aumente la vulnerabilidad del anciano con la enfermedad de Alzheimer.</p>
Resumo O presente trabalho analisa como a autonomia e a dignidade do indivíduo em casos de terminalidade pode ser preservada por meio das diretivas antecipadas de vontade. Entende-se que se deve buscar uma forma, ainda não encontrada e implantada no Brasil, de fazer que o indivíduo, mesmo incapaz de se comunicar, fique seguro do conhecimento de sua vontade por parte dos profissionais de saúde. Como método, o estudo busca aprofundar conceitos utilizados pela doutrina, resoluções e leis. Conclui-se que é preciso dar mais publicidade às diretivas antecipadas de vontade, informando a população sobre sua existência e permitindo que as pessoas expressem seus desejos relativos à saúde. Ademais, é necessário criar um banco de dados que permita o compartilhamento da manifestação de vontade do indivíduo com a rede hospitalar.
A presente investigação objetivou identificar as publicações existentes sobre bioética e cuidados paliativos em idosos no período entre 2002 e 2013, descrevendo os casos encontrados. Para isso, foram investigadas as bases de dados PubMed, Cochrane, Embase, Lilacs, SciELO e Ibecs, buscando publicações com as palavras-chave “bioethics” AND “palliative care” AND “aged”. Foram encontrados 16 artigos que realmente tratavam de bioética e cuidados paliativos em idosos. Pode-se verificar que são poucos os estudos relacionando bioética e cuidados paliativos, comprovado pela escassa literatura sobre o tema. Assim, o levantamento indica a necessidade de outros trabalhos destinados a aprofundar a temática e aprimorar o conhecimento eticamente correto dos profissionais da saúde.
