Epidemiological studies have been investigating the relationship between chlorination byproducts exposure and cancer. Studies showed the incidence of colon, rectum and bladder cancer in laboratory animals when halogenated byproducts were administered to them, such as trihalomethanes. Based on this fact, in this work, two data sets of water quality parameters were analyzed with focus on total trihalomethanes (THMt). These two data sets are from two different time periods (one in 2014 and other in 2017). All the samples were collected in the same months, in both data sets. The samples were taken from its same corresponding sampling points in both periods of time. Trihalomethanes (THMs) are undesired byproducts of chlorination and its formation occurs when the chlorine used in water treatment reacts with natural organic matter, which is present in natural waters, during the disinfection process. The aim of this research was to investigate the THMs levels in storage water from the chlorination performed by the Water Treatment Station (WTS) of the Maringá-Parana-Brazil; also, to compare the results obtained with the maximum allowable values (MAVs) established by the Consolidation Resolution n.05/2017, current law of water quality in Brazil. Water samples were collected in eight high and fundamental schools of Maringá-Paraná-Brazil and analyzed through the gas chromatography method by the use of mass spectrometry detector with purge-and-trap concentrator (GC-MS) for THM. Furthermore, parameters such as pH and residual chlorine were analyzed following the methodology proposed by the Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater. ResumoO experimento objetivou avaliar os efeitos de regimes hídricos (irrigado e não-irrigado) e fertirrigação, combinados com doses de adubo para N, P e K, na fase de crescimento inicial de duas cultivares de cafeeiro, Obatã e IAPAR-59, na região noroeste do Paraná. O delineamento experimental foi o inteiramente casualizado com parcelas subdivididas. As parcelas foram representadas pelas doses de fertilizantes, correspondentes a 15, 30, 45 e 60 g m -1 , para N e K, e a 3, 6, 9 e 12 g m -1 , para P, que equivalem, respectivamente, aos porcentuais de 50%, 100%, 150% e 200% da dose recomendada para cada nutriente. As subparcelas foram constituídas por linhas de plantas que receberam os regimes hídricos. Foram avaliados diâmetro de caule, comprimento do primeiro ramo plagiotrópico e seu número de internódios. Os tratamentos foram analisados separadamente para cada cultivar de cafeeiro. A fertirrigação e a irrigação favoreceram o crescimento inicial de ambas cultivares de cafeeiro. Para a cultivar IAPAR-59, o número de internódios foi superior somente com a fertirrigação. O número de internódios aumentou com a irrigação e diminuiu no sequeiro, de modo linear, para IAPAR-59 e Obatã, respectivamente, em função do aumento das doses de NPK. Na fertirrigação, observou-se redução do diâmetro de caule em doses superiores à menor dose testada, para IAPAR-59, enquanto que o maior número de internódios foi obtido com a máxima dose utilizada, para Obatã. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of different doses of nitrogen and potassium applied through fertirrigation on yield characteristics of Italian Zucchini, Novita Plus cultivar. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse at the Irrigation Technical Center of the State University of Maringá, Maringá -PR, adopting a completely randomized design in a 4 x 4 factorial scheme, with three replications. Four doses of nitrogen (0, 90, 180 and 270 kg ha . Number of leaves, number of male and female flowers, average yield and mass of fruits per plant were evaluated. There was an increase in leaf production at the maximum nitrogen dose, as well as an increase in the number of male flowers at the maximum dose of nitrogen and potassium. The number of female flowers was influenced only by nitrogen, with an increase in the number of flowers at the highest nitrogen levels. Regarding the fruit yield, the best obtained doses were 179.19 kg ha -1 of N and 171.25 kg ha -1 of K 2 O. Finally, the doses that expressed maximum fruit mass gain were 136.92 kg ha -1 of N and 184.17 kg ha -1 of K 2 O.
