This study aims to examine scientific argumentation and critical thinking skills of class X students in MAN 1 Natuna through debate methods on biodiversity material. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data collection using observation, interviews, and documentation. Assessment of scientific argumentation and critical thinking was done oral and written. Scientific argumentation skills refer to Toulmin's Argument Pattern (TAP) and critical thinking skills are categorized in Strong, Acceptable, Unacceptable, & Weak. The results showed that student' scientific argumentation skills were at levels 2, 3, and 4. None of the students were at levels 1 and 5. Students' critical thinking skills were in the Unacceptable (62.06%) and Acceptable (37.94% ) category. Scientific arguments and critical thinking of class X students at MAN 1 Natuna are low. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji keterampilan argumentasi ilmiah dan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa kelas X di MAN 1 Natuna melalui metode debat pada materi keanekaragaman hayati. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Penilaian keterampilan argumentasi ilmiah dan berpikir kritis dilakukan secara lisan & tulisan. Keterampilan argumentasi ilmiah siswa mengacu pada Toulmin's Argument Pattern (TAP), sedangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dikategorikan dalam Strong, Acceptable, Unacceptable, & Weak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, keterampilan argumentasi ilmiah siswa berada pada level 2, 3, dan 4. Tidak ada satupun siswa yang berada pada level 1 dan 5. ABSTRAKProses pembelajaran memerlukan tambahan referensi selain buku paket dan LKS. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran modul animalia, yang memenuhi aspek kevalidan, kepraktisan, respon positif siswa dan keefektifan media tersebut. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu pengembangan (R&D) model 4-D, meliputi tahap Define (Pendefinisian), Design (Perancangan), Develop (Pengembangan) dan Disseminate (Penyebaran), tetapi tahap Disseminate (Penyebaran) tidak dilakukan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kevalidan dan kepraktisan pada aspek bahasa sebesar 90% (sangat valid dan sangat praktis), aspek materi sebesar 86,33% (sangat valid dan sangat praktis) dan aspek kegrafikan sebesar 90% (sangat valid dan sangat praktis). Berdasarkan uji coba skala kecil dan uji coba skala besar, respon siswa terhadap media pembelajaran modul positif, sehingga media dapat digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran. Kefektifan media pembelajaran diperoleh berdasarkan nilai postest. Ketuntasan klasikal kelas eksperimen sebesar 83% dan ketuntasan klasikal kelas kontrol sebesar 61%, yang menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran modul animalia dinyatakan efektif. Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh, menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran modul layak digunakan untuk siswa dalam pembelajaran biologi materi animalia.Kata kunci: Pengembangan, media pembelajaran, modul, animalia ABSTRACT Learning process needs a learning reference such as modul. This study aimed to develop modul which concist of Animal content. Decent Modul if it meets the criteria of validity, practicality, student’s positive response and effectiveness. This study is Research and Development (R&D) method with 4D model (Define, Design, Develop without Disseminate). The result showed that the validity and the practically to language was 90% (very valid and very practical), to material was 86,33% (very valid and very practical), to graphical aspect was 90% (very valid and very practical). Based on the try out with small scale and large scale, student’s response to the media was positive, so modul can be used in the learning process. The effectiveness of the media was obtained from post test, with a percentage of 83% classical completeness in experiment class and a percentage of 61% classical completeness in control class. This result indicate that the modul fit for use as a learning reference in the material of animalia.Keyword: Development, learning reference, modul, animalia
ABSTRACT. Based on the results of interviews with biology teachers of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Pontianak, that not implemented yet local potential based learning is because of limited information. This research aims to develop local potential of West Kalimantan based booklet media on biodiversity material in Grade X of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Pontianak.. Media development of this booklet used the Brog&Gall model development method, with stages:(1) Research and data collection,(2) planning,(3) Initial product development,(4) Initial field trials,(5) initial product repairs, and (6) field trials. The results research phase (1) that the book and worksheets teacher have not shown local potential, stage (2) the designed booklet contains core competencies, basic competencies, indicators, objectives, contents, evaluations, and bibliography, stage (3) shows the validity booklets on language aspects 85.3% (very valid), material aspects 95.3% (very valid) and media aspects 90.6% (very valid), stage (4) student responses was 85,7% (very positive) and the teacher's response was 88.7% (very positive). Then stage (5) and stage (6), student responses 90.0% (very positive) and teachers 90.4% (very positive), it concluded that developed booklet media valid and received very positive response from students and teachers.
Berdasarkan hasil wawancara terhadap guru biologi di kelas X MAN 2 Pontianak pada tahun ajaran 2014/2015, diketahui adanya permasalahan kesulitan belajar siswa pada materi invertebrata. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis kesulitan belajar siswa dalam memahami materi invertebrata.Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif.Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI IPA 1 berjumlah 3 3 siswa.Subjek penelitian ditentukan berdasarkan teknik purposive sampling.Kesulitan belajar dianalisis dengan teknik pengukuran, wawancara dan komunikasi tidak langsung.Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes pilihan ganda, pedoman wawancara dan angket tertutup bentuk check list berskala Likert. Hasil analisis data tes menunjukkan persentase kesulitan belajar siswa sebesar 39,92%. Hasil wawancara menunjukkan jenis kesulitan belajar siswa antara lain kesulitan dalam memahami penamaan ilmiah (59,74%), kesulitan dalam memahami konsep (40,15%) dan kesulitan dalam memahami istilah (26,66%). Hasil angket menunjukkan faktor internal yang mempengaruhi kesulitan belajar siswa meliputi aspek minat (67,14%), motivasi (63,36%), kesehatan (70,08%) dan intelegensi (53,23%). Faktor eksternal yang mempengaruhi kesulitan belajar siswa meliputi aspek keluarga (72,07%) dan sekolah (67,24%), serta guru (54,74%). Namun, faktor-faktor penyebab kesulitan belajar siswa yang berpengaruh cukup adalah faktor internal dari aspek intelegensi dengan indikator pemahaman dan kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal materi invertebrata, serta faktor eksternal dari aspek guru dengan indikator penggunaan metode dan media pembelajaran.Kata Kunci: Kesulitan belajar, materi invertebrata
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan tingkat karbohidrat optimal dalam pakan untuk mendukung kinerja pertumbuhanikan tengadak (Barbonymus achwanefeldii). Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan perlakuan yaitu tingkat karbohidrat dalam pakan yang terdiri dari 4 taraf yaitu; 10%; 20%; 30%; dan 40%, dengan 3 ulangan. Pakan percobaan yang mengandung protein sama (isoprotein) dan energi yang juga sama (isokalori) diberikan pada ikan tengadak berukuran rata-rata3,66±0,49 g yang dipelihara di akuarium selama 60 hari. Ikan tengadak diberi pakan percobaan sesuai perlakuan secara adsatiasi dengan frekwensi 3 kali sehari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian pakan dengan tingkat karbohidrat dalam pakan berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap kandungan protein dan lemak tubuh, retensi protein dan lemak tubuh, laju pertumbuhn harian, jumlah konsumsi pakan harian dan efisiensi pakan. Perlakuan terbaik adalah ikan tengadak yang diberi pakan dengan kadar karbohidrat 20%, dengan nilai kandungan protein tubuh 50,94±0,45 %; lemak tubuh 23,49±0,13 %; retensi protein 22,13±0,04 %; retensi lemak 30,93±0,01 %; laju pertumbuhan harian 3,52 %; jumlah konsumsi pakan harian 0,53±0,02 g dan efisiensi pakan 55.68±1.35 %. Tingkat karbohidrat dalam pakan ikan tengadak yang optimal adalah 22,89 %. Kata Kunci: karbohidrat, kinerja pertumbuhan, kan tengadak dan Barbonymus schwanenfeldii
