A proposta deste trabalho é evidenciar a função transculturadora exercida por trabalhadoras migrantes na Itália contemporânea, vista como espaço da diáspora, nos romances Apri le porte all'alba (1999), de Elena Gianini Belotti, e L'indecenza (2008), de Elvira Seminara. Essas personagens sociais - participantes de trocas interculturais e intercorporais - vêm se tornando personagens literárias e, embora reduzidas a não-pessoas ou marcadas por um pretenso núcleo étnico essencial, ativam as forças diferenciadoras e transgressoras da homogeneidade cultural globalizada, citadas por Hall (2003). Visando acentuar esse papel da migrante, utilizo a figura do xamã no drama existencial mágico e na crise da presença, tratados por Ernesto de Martino, um dos fundadores da antropologia italiana, em Il mondo magico (1948).
O objetivo do presente trabalho é evidenciar a sobreposição entre processos de aprendizagem de uma língua estrangeira e processos de identificação, centrando o foco especificamente sobre o caso da língua italiana no Brasil. Dados obtidos com base em uma pesquisa de mestrado em Antropologia e em uma pesquisa de doutorado em Lingüística Aplicada são utilizados para defender a língua/símbolo de identidade e o desejo de celebrar a participação numa comunidade real ou imaginária como dimensões importantes a serem consideradas na questão da língua italiana falada fora da Itália.
Jhumpa Lahiri, que obteve sucesso e prestígio escrevendo romances e contossobre a experiência de indianos e seus descendentes nos Estados Unidos, fez sua primeira experiência de escritora em língua italiana com In altre parole, no ano de 2015. A esse volume composto de textos curtos – relatos pessoais de sua aprendizagem do italiano –, vieram se somar um outro volume sobre as capas de livros, Il vestito dei libri, e Dove mi trovo, um romance. Este trabalho se propõe a traçar algumas considerações sobre a relação de Lahiri, escritora deslocada e mulher traduzida, com as línguas inglesa e italiana à luz de textosque tematizam questões referentes ao trânsito e à diáspora no mundo contemporâneo.
Este trabalho se propõe a analisar o romance Sardinia Blues, de Flavio Soriga (Bompiani, 2008), a partir do foco no espaço, perspectiva esta que se justifica pela centralidade da dimensão espacial na obra desde o próprio título. A Sardenha do romance apresenta-se não apenas como cenário, mas como fio condutor e articulador de temáticas que dizem respeito à própria condição identitária e existencial dos personagens. As relações com o espaço regional sardo, percebido como folclorizado e estereotipado, e as relações com o espaço global, ao mesmo tempo fonte de medo e desejo, são problematizadas durante as longas horas de ócio de três jovens, que se autodenominam "piratas" da ilha. Pretendemos evidenciar os conflitos dessa condição insular marginal, mas fortemente contaminada por um inevitável processo de mudança, que se configura no texto fragmentado de Soriga, repleto de citações musicais e híbrido de várias línguas, tanto inovador quanto nostálgico.
