Objetivo: Expor o panorama geral e perfil epidemiológico da hanseníase no território brasileiro. Métodos: Trata-se de estudo através do levantamento de dados epidemiológicos. Informações foram obtidas no Departamento de Informática do Sistema Único de Saúde (DATASUS), nas subseções Sistema de Informação de Agravos de Notificação (SINAN) e Sistema de Informações sobre Mortalidade (SIM). Resultados: Entre 2011 e 2021, foram encontrados 375.942 casos de hanseníase no Brasil. A região Nordeste destaca-se pelo número (42%). Percebeu-se preponderância em 15 anos ou mais. Houve prevalência em indivíduos do sexo masculino, constituindo 56,91%. Entre 2011 e 2019, foram registrados 1490 óbitos. O país continua sendo o segundo líder de novos casos. Isso se deve, principalmente, à demora do paciente, maioria homens, para começar a tratar. Na região Nordeste, populações encontram dificuldade para ter acesso aos serviços de saúde. O Ministério da Saúde recomenda aumentar o reconhecimento da doença em seu estágio inicial com campanhas e atividades educativas. Conclusão: Houve considerável redução de casos no Brasil. Contudo, permanece como um dos líderes da incidência dessa doença. Torna-se essencial a manutenção das políticas públicas, a fim de ser efetivada a erradicação da hanseníase.
Objetivo: Analisar as características da dor do membro fantasma (DMF). Revisão bibliográfica: A DMF é uma condição debilitante caracterizada por sensações dolorosas na parte ausente do membro amputado. A DMF ocorre em até 85% dos amputados, tornando-se a condição de dor crônica mais comum em pessoas que sofreram amputações de membros. Múltiplas teorias foram propostas para explicar o mecanismo subjacente da DMF, sendo a reorganização cortical a mais comum. Existem dois picos de aparecimento da DMF, sendo um até a primeira semana de amputação e o outro com um ano com sensações dolorosas variando entre aguda, tiro, queimação, latejante, esfaqueamento e dor. Considerações finais: A dor do membro fantasma está associada a sofrimento pessoal, interferência nas atividades diárias gerais, incapacidade e redução da qualidade de vida relacionada à saúde. Nesse contexto, torna-se essencial o reconhecimento e tratamento adequado desta condição, visando a melhora da qualidade de vida. Na atualidade, a terpêutica da DMF é feita através de mecanismos farmacológicos como a gabapentina, morfina, cetamina e dextrometorfano e tratamentos não farmacológicos como a terapia dos espelhos.
