Abstract: This article, through bibliographical survey of books and scientific articles, objectives a clear and explanatory approach about the general aspects of gene therapy, whose concept is based on the insertion of the copy of a functional gene in the genome of the individual, to correct or prevent genetic abnormalities whether they are acquired or hereditary. This method of treatment and prevention, although still in early stages, has surpassed the experimental barriers and continues to present great potential, causing considerable impact on traditional medicine. Key-words: gene therapy, human genome, transgene.
Summary Hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia is an autosomal dominant disease. It is characterized by arteriovenous malformation. Its main feature is the frequent epistaxis, this is usually the first symptoms of the disease, and telangiectasia mucous membranes
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
