Objetivo: Realizar análise e revisão dos principais artigos disponíveis sobre Colestase Intrahepática Gestacional (CIG), discorrendo sobre a influência genética, fatores de risco associados, diagnóstico e tratamento. Revisão bibliográfica: A CIG é um distúrbio que leva ao aumento sérico de ácido biliar, geralmente acometendo mulheres gestantes no último trimestre da gravidez. Possui manifestações clínicas variáveis, sendo o prurido em superfície palmar e plantar a associação mais comumente encontrada. Para realizar o diagnóstico é preciso levar em considerações os achados clínicos e laboratoriais, além de afastar outras causas como cálculos em vias biliares e colelitíase. O tratamento depende do período gestacional em que se encontra a mulher, sendo a interrupção da gestação através do parto o tratamento definitivo. Entretanto caso não seja possível, o tratamento clínico de controle de sintomas é feito com ácido ursodesoxicólico, em dose-padrão de 300mg três vezes ao dia. Considerações finais: Apesar de ser uma complicação rara, a CIG pode levar a desfechos materno fetais desfavoráveis, com necessidade de acompanhamento médico durante a gravidez para diagnóstico e tratamento.
