Intrapyloric injection of botulinum toxin improves gastric emptying in patients with gastroparesis, although this benefit was not superior to placebo at 1 month. Also, in comparison to placebo, symptoms do not improve significantly by 1 month after injection. Overall, we are unable to recommend botulinum toxin therapy for widespread use in the treatment of delayed gastric emptying until more data are available.
The natural history of men who have an increasing PSA profile following definitive radiotherapy is heterogeneous. In the absence of salvage therapy, at least three quarters of men will have clinical evidence of recurrent disease 5 years after a PSA elevation is detected. Men with a rapid posttreatment PSADT and a short interval from the end of treatment to an increasing PSA profile are at a very high risk of developing distant metastasis within 5 years of PSA elevation.
Prognosis of oral tongue SCC was not affected by age at diagnosis. CFS rates tended to be worse in cases not related to prior tobacco or alcohol exposure. Multiple smoking-related cancers occurred only in older patients.
